Me Too...

There is so much to be said on this subject, and speaking from experience, simply being able to hear other people's stories can have a huge impact on healing. So, yes, just the fact that women are speaking out, will in itself help other victims. So for this post, I am simply sharing my own stories. And of course the specific point of #metoo is to shed light on the magnitude of the problem. I don't know what the solution is, but I do hope that this helps in some small way, if only to help some of my readers to feel as if they're not alone, and that healing is possible.

Have you ever been sexually harassed or assaulted? Me too...

With the phrase "grab them by the pussy" reverberating since the presidential election (unfortunately) and new and disgusting details of the Weinstein scandal surfacing by the day, it is hard to keep anxieties at bay. It's difficult to watch the news or scroll through Twitter when just the words "rape" and "molest" …

Same Time Tomorrow Exclusive: The Proposal

I am pleased to share another excerpt from Same Time Tomorrow with you all. It won't be released until next year, so it is a special treat. Today's passage has me wondering about your own engagements. For those of you who are married, what was the proposal like? Was it an elaborate romantic gesture or purely spontaneous and casual? If you're single, what is your dream proposal? Let us know! Leave a comment below. And enjoy your exclusive sneak peek courtesy of Scarlett Martin and James Morgan of Basking In The Afterglow.

“I wonder what those coyotes were thinking,” she remarked.

He smirked. “The momma was probably telling her cubs… observe closely, the mating habits of the human being.” Chloe laughed, and he found it infectious. Looking at her, Gabriel found himself lost in the moment. This is the woman I want to marry, to have children with… to grow old with. He knew it down to the core of his being. I was meant to spend my life with her. She had so much to deal with… her mothers’ illness. Chloe should have happiness too. He looked around the clearing again, and felt an impulse. Ask her. He drew her hand to his lips, kissing it.

Chloe looked up into his eyes. “I’ve been thinking…”

“That makes two of us,” he answered, softly smiling. “Will you marry me?”

"Will you marry me?"

They'd spoken exactly the same words at the same moment....

Gabriel couldn’t resist the grin, her words matching his own. He gazed into her eyes and saw his future, everything that mattered. Hell, yeah, I’ll marry you, he thought to himself. That’s not the way to answer the question, lad. “Scary, isn’t it?”

Chloe chuckled. “We think alike,” she agreed.

“Yes, I’ll marry you,” he declared.

“Only if I get to marry you back.”

“Deal,” Gabriel said. He dropped to one knee. “I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. You make me happy… and I want to make you happy, Chloe. I want us to make a life together.” He kissed both of her hands. “All that I am… is yours. I belong to you, Chloe Matilda Masters.” She crinkled her nose at the sound of her middle name, and laughed. “That’s… not the kind of reaction I was looking for.”

Chloe knelt, kissing him. “What my mother was thinking, giving me her mother’s name as a middle name is beyond me.” She smiled, her eyes light and playful. “One condition, Gabriel,” she said, her lips curving with mischief.

“What would that be?” he asked.

Never use my middle name again.”
