DIY Mermaid Nails

I've been promising you guys a new makeup tutorial, and here it is - a beautiful DIY mermaid mani! It's so perfect for Summer, and I promise you, it's quite easy to do. I was so inspired by the samples I recently received from Nail Social Nail Brand. I have to say, when I first saw the colors, I knew they were a little bit out of my typical comfort zone. Honestly, I haven't worn sparkly blue nail polish since college, which was quite a while ago for me. NY Fashion Week 2012: Tommy Hilfiger's British Invasion

posted by Christina Williams, February 16, 2012

Upon browsing Tommy Hilfiger's Fall 2012 collection that hit the runway during Fashion Week in New York this week, I couldn't help but notice the obvious theme of riding boots, peacoats, plaid and hats that are reminiscent of English riding helmuts or perhaps bobby hats. This is a bit adventurous for the traditional all-American designer. Though it is in essence very American of him to turn to our pre-revolution rulers for inspiration.

I'm happy to say it is in no way a cheesy, literal representation of the Brits, but rather a fox-hunt and tea-and-shortbread kind of look. Obviously the helmuts are just for show.

What do you think of these looks? Personally, I'm suddenly craving tea and excessive amounts of brown leather (not that I would eat the leather...you know what I mean). In fact, I think I may speak exclusively in my worst English accent for the rest of the day. Cheers!

  3. Some are adorable and go well with the boots. Somehow I can't see me in any of those hats.
