3 Looks for a Summer Wedding

It seems not too long ago when I shared three looks to wear to a spring wedding. But that season has come and gone so quickly, and summer is upon us. And it is the biggest season of the year for weddings, so chances are you have a few invites and may be wondering what to wear. It's pretty easy to figure out summer wedding attire if you keep the location in mind.

Of course you have the invite to start with as well. It should say "Black Tie Attire" or "Black Tie Optional" or perhaps something like "Formal Beach Attire," and it will have the ceremony time. Generally indoor evening weddings call for more formal attire than outdoor afternoon weddings.

Mini Apple Crisps



I love an old-fashioned apple pie, but I don't always have the time to make a crust from scratch. An apple crisp or crumble is a delicious and fast way to make a rustic apple dessert.

I like to make mine in single-serving bakeware. It's so cute and perfect for dinner parties. I've been making crisps a lot the last few Falls, and I think I've finally perfected my topping recipe. It's so simple and delicious, and it's perfect for Fall. You can use the crust recipe for any kind of fruit crumble. I hope you enjoy the recipe as much as I do.


INGREDIENTS

For Apple Filling:
*4 medium granny smith apples
*juice of 1 lemon
*1 tspn vanilla extract
*juice of 1 lemon
*1/2 tsp nutmeg
*1 tbs cinnamon
*1/2 tsp ginger
*3 tbsp light brown sugar

For Topping:
*2 C Old Fashioned Oats
*1 C light brown sugar
*1 C flour
*2 sticks melted butter
*1/2 tsp salt
*(dash of nutmeg and cinnamon optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 450 F.

2. Peel and cube apples and mix with apple filling ingredients. *Best to chill at least 1 hour to let the flavors marinate with the apples.

3. Combine the dry ingredients of the topping mixture in a medium bowl. Mix it together with your hands to lighlty break up the oatmeal. *Leave some of the oats intact.

4. Melt 2 sticks of butter and stir it into the topping mixture.

5. Fill your mini casserole dishes or a medium baking dish with the apple filling and generously top with the oatmeal mixture.

6. Bake at 450 F for 25-30 min. until topping is golden brown and apple filling is bubbling.
