Me Too...

There is so much to be said on this subject, and speaking from experience, simply being able to hear other people's stories can have a huge impact on healing. So, yes, just the fact that women are speaking out, will in itself help other victims. So for this post, I am simply sharing my own stories. And of course the specific point of #metoo is to shed light on the magnitude of the problem. I don't know what the solution is, but I do hope that this helps in some small way, if only to help some of my readers to feel as if they're not alone, and that healing is possible.

Have you ever been sexually harassed or assaulted? Me too...

With the phrase "grab them by the pussy" reverberating since the presidential election (unfortunately) and new and disgusting details of the Weinstein scandal surfacing by the day, it is hard to keep anxieties at bay. It's difficult to watch the news or scroll through Twitter when just the words "rape" and "molest" …

What I've Been Up To (In Photos)

The craziness began a month ago when my oldest daughter turned eight years old. I didn't have the time or money to organize a big party this year, so I gave her a whole birthday week to make up for it. I surprised her with a present each day, and on the last day before her birthday, I made her a scavenger hunt to another present she got to open early. On the day of, I surprised her with a new outfit to wear to dinner.

Then a few weeks ago my boss went on vacation and let me and my girls house sit so we could have our own little vacation. They have a big house with a pool, so we spent our time relaxing.

They also have 3 horses and a pony, so we had fun brushing them down and giving them snacks.

Then my boss (and friend) needed me on a weekend trip to Deep Creek Lake. On Saturday we took all the kids to a man-made beach and soaked up some sun while the kiddos swam and played in the sand.

The day we got back was the day before my 8 yr. old's first day of third grade. We still had a few things to pick up then squeezed in one last mommy-Kylie date with The Odd Life of Timothy Green (great movie!).

Meanwhile I took photos for several travel-tips posts. Between the military and all the weekend trips we take, I've learned quite a few things about traveling with children.

I've also been doing more cooking and baking with Kylie before the rush of school started. I took photos so I can share the recipes with you.

In addition to organizing and redecorating my daughters' room, I've been cleaning out my own closet (and doing some vintage shopping) to prep for a "shop my closet" type of blog. I had some success selling vintage accessories on Etsy, but the fees are not something I want to pay considering I'm not making a huge return.

Of course you can see I also reworked The Blog Entourage. It is no longer about other blogs. It is a lifestyle blog with new posts coming on the things I love the most - cooking, style, decorating, organizing and travel. Perhaps the biggest change is I no longer accept guest posts. It was taking up too much time, and time is money. It's time for me to get serious about freelance writing and whichever other side projects I have going on, and this site needs to function as a reference point for prospective clients.

I appreciate the readers who are still making their way to the site!
