My Favorite Jewelry Trends for Fall

As back-to-school approaches, I can't help but look forward to the Fall season. One of the best things about Fall in my opinion, is the fashion! With tall boots and suede hats to chic satchels and statement jewelry, it's the best time of the year to have fun with accessories. Personally, one of my favorite Autumn accessories, and the easiest way to update an outfit, is jewelry. From a big bold ear cuff to minimal gold necklaces with interesting little pendants, my fashion forecast for Fall this year includes more modern and sleek pieces.

For example, while I tend to love a pair of sparkly statement studs or a larger dangling statement earring, this Fall I see a modern ear cuff being one of the biggest earring trends, and it's definitely one of my favorite jewelry trends! It looks great on its own or paired with some gold hoops, and you can even pair it with a cool ear crawler. These elegant and modern ear cuffs come with sleek built-in tassel earrings. My Living Room Redo: Warming Up with Reds & Browns

For the longest time I've leaned towards sleek and modern when it comes to interior design. Though in the last few years I've increasingly leaned towards traditional design. It started out innocently enough, with a few baskets here and there, then gradually advanced into something more serious, like dark brown leather and mission-style furniture. Before I know it, I'll have lace curtains and potpourri. Consider this a cry for help!
None the less, I love my new living room. I needed a fresh start, and I find that design is the best medicine for that. I wanted something more traditional, more cozy. My biggest challenge was how to incorporate red and green into my pre-existing blue color scheme. If you wish to incorporate several colors into one room, all you have to do is find one large piece like a painting or area rug that contains each the multiple colors you want to use.
An easy and inexpensive way to add color to a room is through small accessories, like throw pillows and candles. I still haven't tracked down a patterned pillow that is mixed with the right shades of red and blue, so I simply added solid red pillows with the blue ones I already had. Surprisingly, the colors go together very well and help tie in the rest of the room. My favorite piece is the vintage-inspired large wall clock. It takes the look of the room from being merely traditional and gives it an old-world feel. The lamp was a simple DIY project; I used metallic paint on my old lamp base and swapped out the lamp shade for a traditional shade in a golden-brown color. A very inexpensive way to add a cozy feel to a room is with candles. I use a combination of simple jar candles, pillar candles on pedestals, as well as wall sconces. On a rainy (or snowy) day in, there is nothing more cozy than a hot cup of tea and flickering candles.

  3. My living room is also red, brown and blue. I have looked all over for candles that will bring all 3 colors together, but can't find any. Yesterday I went to Michaels and bought supplies to make my own candles that will match with all 3 colors.... we will see how that turns out!
