Gift Guide for the Dog Lover

I'm so excited to bring you guys today's holiday gift guide. This one is for all of the #dogmoms out there (and #dogdads). My husband and I have a German Shepherd named Emma (who is currently in a time out for pooping inside...again), but just like our other kids, we still love her. We'd also really love it if she'd quit going potty inside, but that is beside the point. The point is there is no shame in spoiling your sweet fur baby, especially during the holidays!! And while some of these gifts are items for your dog, some are great gift ideas for the dog lover in your life too.

The Dogist 2018 Wall Calendar by Elias Weiss Friedman author of The Dogist, for example, is the perfect Christmas gift for someone who loves dogs.

These super cute Christmas Plaid Dog Collars by Mr. Bow Tie Boutique would be the perfect holiday gift for doggies and dog owners alike! Whether you have family holiday photos coming up, or you simply want your furry friend to look festive for those…

How to Throw A Last-Minute Golden Globes Viewing Party

A Last-Minute Golden Globes Viewing Party by theaccessorizer on Polyvore

You can host a last-minute awards show viewing party with little planning and little cost. Start with the most obvious theme - movies. Then decorate for your awards show party with a specific color. For any red carpet show, you can of course focus on red, but for a Golden Globes viewing party, go for gold. Incorporate things that are typically a part of the awards show; like bubbly and gift bags for the guests. For the party food you don't have to get fancy. Any bite-size appetizer will do.

Menu Ideas for A Golden Globes Viewing Party

*For the Golden Globes in particular you can focus on the nominees when coming up with your party menu. For example, serve "Honest Abe Apple Pie" as a nod to the film Lincoln.

*Serve an elegant cheese and fig appetizer reminiscent of Downton Abbey. Try my easy Blue Cheese and Fig Appetizer.

*You don't have to spend a lot on fancy champagne. Make the bubbly last longer by doing one mixed drink using club soda, fruit juice, and your choice of liquor.

Inexpensive Party Supplies for A Last-Minute Golden Globes Viewing Party

1. Gold-colored Party Supplies: pick up gold-colored paper party supplies  for quick and easy party decor. A gold-colored paper lantern in particular will lend itself to the Golden Globe party theme.

2. Gold Gift Bags: fill mini gold-colored gift bags with individual movie snacks and chocolates for each guest.

3. Mini Plastic Popcorn Tubs: turn popcorn into a fun themed appetizer by serving it in individual popcorn boxes. You can get these at the dollar store or a party supply store or online.

I hope these last-minute party tips help. Enjoy your Golden Globes viewing party!
