The KCL Beauty Edit

Welcome to another KCL Beauty Edit! I've really loved so many of the beauty and makeup products I tried last month. There is usually at least one dud in the bunch that I reluctantly have to give a bad review, but I have something good to say about each one of these products. A few of them I very highly recommend, so grab a cup of coffee and check it all out. If you have a question about any of the products mentioned, please leave it below in the comments section. And if you don't have time to read this, you can skip ahead and listen to my video review here while you work or whatever. Enjoy!

The new skincare line I tried last month was from LHB Natural Skincare, which included a facial wash and two different facial serums. I recently posted about LHB in an anti-aging skincare routine blog and video to show how I use each of these products. Of course I started with the facial wash, which I really loved. The LHB Coconut & Sea Clay Mineral Face Wash is great for any skin type…

Prabal Gurung Collection for Target Now Available

Prabal Gurung for Target is finally here! Unlike with the Missoni crash that downed Target.com's server all day, the website is running just fine (so far), so grab your favorites while you can. The accessories tend to sell out faster than the bigger pieces. Prabal Gurung, New York based designer, has created 92 pieces for his Target Collection including dresses, separates, shoes, clutches, and jewelry. See more on the Prabal Gurung for Target accessories here.

It's a romantic collection with an aesthetic for the funky girl who likes bright colors, trippy prints, and strappy black embellishments. In keeping with recent trends, the line also features color blocking and hard-case clutches mixed with feminine details like lace and ruffles. There is a huge mix-and-match versatility to Prabal Gurung's Target collection. If you have the basics in your wardrobe, you'll be able to pull together a hot new look by purchasing just one item. For example, I intend to get the blouse to pair with a black A-line skirt and strappy black heels. Most of the items feature floral prints in neon citrus shades that are perfect for Spring. The "Nolita" items featuring the colorful splatter print are going to be huge for Spring. Anything with that splatter type of print is going to be a big style trend this year.

Aside from the bright colors, what I love most about this collection is that it's designed for real women with average figures. Granted they look great on the thin model from the look book, but the ad campaign featuring actress Olivia Thirlby, shows the dresses on a shorter more curvy figure. These looks were made to flatter a woman's figure.

Leading up to the Feb.10th sale, there was a lot of negative chatter on Facebook about how the pieces were going to be too expensive anyway. I'm pleased to tell you that each piece is under $50.00, and most are under $30.00. Most of the shoes, like these gorgeous lace-up pumps, cost $39.99, while the flirty and ultra-cool dresses cost from $34.99 to $49.99. Some of the pieces by Prabal Gurung have already sold out online, though there are many items still available at target.com. Check your local Target store for items no longer available online.

    1. Well, they're all styled for the look book here, so even the normal pieces look strange. That's fashion for ya!
