KCL Friday Finds

Happy weekend!! We are still busy over here with getting settled in. I know Ken and I will be utterly happy when we don't have to do anything extra to do...just a normal day-to-day routine plus our dates on the weekends. We will at least be on more of a schedule this coming week, as our kiddos start at their new school! And I've managed to get on a bit of a schedule with work, with just a few extra things on my to-do. I hope you all have a good weekend and enjoy some of my favorite links from the week. Grab a cup of coffee and sit back and relax. Image via Chevrons & Eclairs.

Music Monday: Sara Bareilles ~ Brave

I have been obsessed with Sara Bareilles's music since her first album and loved her sound even more when her second album Kaleidoscope Heart came out. When she performed her new hit single "Brave" on the Today show earlier this month, she revealed that the lyrics were inspired by her gay friend who is struggling with coming out, though the words to "Brave" can appeal to many other situations as well.

To me it's about being brave enough to speak up whenever you're unhappy or hurt, whether it be in a relationship, at your job, or elsewhere. I know it's scary sometimes, especially facing the fear that even if you ask for what you need, the other person still might not want to give it to you. Unfortunately that's the only way out of a miserable situation...either they give you what you need, or you have to face the fact that they can't, and you need to move on. Even in the worst situation, there is still a huge sense of freedom and relief in having said what you needed to say. At least then you can blame the fu#ker, right?;)

In any case, enjoy the video...take a little break from the Monday blues. It features odd people dancing like crazy in public - sure to bring a smile to your face!
