25 Halloween Costumes w/Your LBD

The easiest way to create a last-minute or inexpensive Halloween costume is to start with things you already have. I do it every year, because I get so frustrated with how expensive yet poorly-made most Halloween costumes are. I'd rather use what is already in my closet, or spend a little extra on accessories or a new dress that I can wear anytime of the year. A little black dress is the easiest way to use what you have to create a Halloween costume with a few inexpensive accessories and other accessories you probably already have in your closet.Pictured Above: Halloween Black Mesh Dress

1. Black Cat - This is the easiest way to use your little black dress on Halloween. Immune-Boosting Strawberry Kale Smoothie

Smoothies are my favorite meals to have in the summer. They're quick, healthy, and yummy. A smoothie is a great way to pack in veggies and super foods, like ground flax or chia seeds.

You can right click to download the recipe above. Simply blend the ingredients together on high for a few minutes until thoroughly combined. You may have noticed the recipe calls for frozen broccoli. I started using that in my green smoothies because it's practically tasteless when mixed with fruit, and it adds a nice chill to the smoothie without watering it down like ice does. I used to do the same thing by using frozen fruit, but it's a lot cheaper to get a big bag of frozen broccoli. I also like to use almond milk in my smoothies, but to make this one creamy, don't use anything other than plain coconut milk.

The super foods in my strawberry kale smoothie have many health benefits. A smoothie is the perfect opportunity to take in apple cider vinegar without having to deal with the taste. The ground flax also adds a good amount of fiber, calcium, iron, and omegas. To make this a post-workout smoothie, add protien by swapping the flax seed with 4 tbsn almond butter. (I would only use one or the other simply to keep the calories in check.) Kale is my absolute most favorite green to put in a smoothie. It is tasteless and packs in large doses of Vitamin A and Vitamin C, along with good amounts of other nutrients. Strawberries are also very high in Vitamin C, and 1 cup of frozen broccoli contains 50% the daily value of Vitamin C. With the large amount of Vitamin C in this drink, you could definitely think of it as an immune-boosting smoothie.
