25 Halloween Costumes w/Your LBD

The easiest way to create a last-minute or inexpensive Halloween costume is to start with things you already have. I do it every year, because I get so frustrated with how expensive yet poorly-made most Halloween costumes are. I'd rather use what is already in my closet, or spend a little extra on accessories or a new dress that I can wear anytime of the year. A little black dress is the easiest way to use what you have to create a Halloween costume with a few inexpensive accessories and other accessories you probably already have in your closet.Pictured Above: Halloween Black Mesh Dress

1. Black Cat - This is the easiest way to use your little black dress on Halloween. I know it's pretty much the most generic costume in history, but for good reason - it's just so easy and affordable. Fall Fashion Preview: J. Crew Fall/Holiday 2013 Collection

One of the most buzzed about women's collections for fall is the J.Crew 2013 Fall/Holiday Collection, presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week earlier this year, and it's easy to see why. Now bare with me. I know a lot of you wouldn't wear all of the looks as they were styled for the runway, and I don't blame you. However take a moment to look at the individual pieces. The collection is full of perfectly tailored trousers, glorious brocade prints, and a some sporty pieces. There is so much detail, yet somehow it's so streamlined. Though the looks are styled to perfection if you're fashion forward, you can make the pieces more wearable by pairing the prints with solid tops and the trousers with flats.

The first thing I noticed were the accessories. I can't help it, those are my favorite parts of any look. Let's face it, shoes have taken a strange turn in the recent years with high flat-forms, chunky heels, cut-out heels, etc. I love how all of the heels shown with this collection are classic pointy-toe heels, a few incorporating the ankle-strap trend (which I am obsessed with). These looks are perfect for wearing to work and for holiday events. The fun pieces mixed in, like the first two tops in the first picture and the striped tops can all work well with more casual look as well. Though the blazers are all so sleek and formal, they can totally go with jeans and a cool tee.
