A Vintage-Inspired Home Office

My husband and I have a dream, and a very real goal, to buy a house that we can retire in. On my list of things I'd love for the house to include is an extra bedroom that I could turn into a beautiful home office. I envision a very Instagram-worthy desk, a place to store all of the PR samples I get, and some pretty tufted accent chairs: where I can enjoy coffee breaks with my husband, who luckily also works from home.

When I get inspiration from vintage home offices on the web, I'm most attracted to spaces with a touch of modern glam. My husband and I both like transitional decor - old meets new. For example, I'd pair a modern mirrored desk with one of these antique desk chairs. Seating isn't often the focal point of an office, but why shouldn't it be? We spend all day sitting in it, after all.

My husband and I take frequent breaks throughout the day, with a coffee break here and there and a lunch hour during which we watch one of our favorite shows togeth…

Summer Fashion: Lightweight Leather 3 Ways

A surprising trend for summer 2013 is leather. Though it's not the heavy, rocker-inspired leather from winter. While studs and black are still trendy even into summer this year, the leather trend has taken on a lighter, brighter feel. Merging with the fit and flare trend, leather skirts in pastels and bright yellow are super fun for spring and summer. It's so simple to style one of these leather fit and flare skirts; just pair it with a white sleeveless blouse, a cute clutch, and some dressy flat sandals.

Leather shorts, worn by stars like Miranda Kerr and the Kardashians, are a huge trend within summer leather. Black leather shorts are the most popular and the easiest to wear. They're still on trend for summer, as black modern styles have made their way well into this season. Pair them with a plain white tee or dress them up with a patterned sleeveless blouse.

The light weight leather trend is so easy to wear to the office. Wear the trend to work by pairing a leather pencil skirt with a white peplum top. Pick a bright shade like the one pictured above. Tone down the look with neutral pumps and a pale pink satchel.
