25 Halloween Costumes w/Your LBD

The easiest way to create a last-minute or inexpensive Halloween costume is to start with things you already have. I do it every year, because I get so frustrated with how expensive yet poorly-made most Halloween costumes are. I'd rather use what is already in my closet, or spend a little extra on accessories or a new dress that I can wear anytime of the year. An Elegant Tartan Thanksgiving Table Setting

If you're a regular reader here, you will have seen this beautiful bird a few times already. It's my Thanksgiving Day turkey from last year. Isn't it pretty? I went with a blue and red tartan table setting last year so I could work in my blue dish set and blue vase. It can be a challenge to mix in your everyday color scheme with holiday colors, but as you can see here, it can be done. All you need is one multicolored item to tie everything together. I used a tartan sheet in red and blue to tie in the unusual color combo, and it worked beautifully. I layered red chargers underneath the blue dishes, then layered red and white napkins over each place setting.

For the Thanksgiving centerpiece I used items I already had from my autumn decor, like the pumpkins and pine cones. I added in some red pillar candles I had on hand along with some pears I picked up at the store. If you have a table runner, or even a scarf or ribbon you can run down the middle of the table, you don't have to use any fancy containers or candle holders for your centerpiece. You can line everything up directly on top of the runner.
