KCL Friday Finds

Happy weekend!! I've got another round up of beautiful home decor items for you guys today. It hasn't been intentional, it just so happens that the Friday Finds participants have all been home decor shops lately, and I'm loving it! With Spring coming up soon, it's the perfect time to spruce things up around the house and update your decor for the new season. Pictured: Geometric Pineapple Jewelry Holder/Home Accessory

First up is something we could all use more of in our homes - hygge by Snygge Home (pronounced snoo-gue). Snygge is a play on the danish word hygge that I'm sure you've heard of by now...or at least seen and thought what is hygge anyway? Hygge is "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being." You can read more about it on Hygge Home.

At Snygge Home, owner Alice and her boyfriend Jack create hygge-inspired homeware, gifts, and event decorations using 3D printing. And like most E…

Nursery Decor: A Modern Gray and Sage Green Baby's Room

Gray has become a surprisingly trendy home decor color, even for baby's rooms. This once thought to be drab color has become one of the most beautifully displayed neutrals lately. It has such a calming effect, it's easy to see why it has become so popular in nursery design. A slightly dark shade of gray (pictured above) can give a sleek and modern look, while a lighter Heather gray (pictured below) can look quite feminine when paired with the right kind of accessories and prints.

I love this neutral for a baby's room, because it truly can go either way, unlike blue or pink. And you can add any accent color you can imagine. It also looks very cool and modern with primary colors like orange and yellow, and it looks modern yet sophisticated when paired with cool colors like blues and greens. For this inspiration board, I've paired it with a very light sage green. It's very neutral, but given the right patterns, can also look very girly. You could easily add in a second accent color - blue for a boy's room or lavender for a girl's room. To incorporate animals into the design, you could use gray-colored animals like elephants, mice, or sharks.

You can use whichever type of wood with these colors, though for a full modern look, go with black or white furniture. If you want to add in metallic elements, go for silver.
