KCL 2018 Beauty Awards

Welcome to the latest beauty edit and the very first beauty awards here on the blog! I’ve tried so many wonderful beauty products this year and wanted to let you guys know which were my top must-have products of the year. I’ve picked from new and small businesses only, as I love to work with indie brands. And like most of the beauty brands I review; most of these are organic, natural, and cruelty-free.

These are the items that long after the required testing and promotion period, I find myself still using and preferring above any others. The're the products which despite a never ending stream of free PR samples, I would still spend my own money (and in some cases have) in order to get more of. And whether affordable or more costly, these are the beauty products that I truly think are worth the price. So if you’re thinking about adding more beauty or selfcare products into your 2019 routine, I highly recommend each of these brands.

The Weekend IT List

1. Cauliflower - The hottest new health food trend for 2014 is cauliflower. That right, kale, you are so last year. Check out these recipes using cauliflower on finecooking.com.

2. Movie Night - If you've yet to see 12 Years a Slave, this is the perfect weekend to do so.

3. BB for Body - I've been a huge fan of Garnier BB Cream for the face since it first came out, and I still use it every time I leave the house. I've often used it on my neck and chest and thought someone should really come out with BB cream for the body. Thank you, Jergens! I've been a big fan of the brand's Natural Glow skin firming cream for years, and the new Jergens BB Body cream is available in stores for just over $10. It's sheer coverage that much like the BB cream for face; it hydrates, illuminates, evens, and corrects, with the added benefit of firming.

4. Get Organized - It's time to start those new year projects. Second to weight loss, a lot of people resolve to get more organized in the new year. Though it can be hard to find the motivation. Get started by picking one small project like organizing your jewelry or cleaning out one closet. After you finish one project, it'll feel so good, you'll happily move on to the next mess. 5. Helix - Scyfy channel's new series Helix is so good - if you like creepy outbreak shows. The fourth episode is on tonight, but you can catch up with the first 3 episodes online.
