Gift Guide for the Dog Lover

I'm so excited to bring you guys today's holiday gift guide. This one is for all of the #dogmoms out there (and #dogdads). My husband and I have a German Shepherd named Emma (who is currently in a time out for pooping inside...again), but just like our other kids, we still love her. We'd also really love it if she'd quit going potty inside, but that is beside the point. The point is there is no shame in spoiling your sweet fur baby, especially during the holidays!! And while some of these gifts are items for your dog, some are great gift ideas for the dog lover in your life too.

The Dogist 2018 Wall Calendar by Elias Weiss Friedman author of The Dogist, for example, is the perfect Christmas gift for someone who loves dogs.

These super cute Christmas Plaid Dog Collars by Mr. Bow Tie Boutique would be the perfect holiday gift for doggies and dog owners alike! Whether you have family holiday photos coming up, or you simply want your furry friend to look festive for those…

10 Pink and Red Valentine's Day Cocktails

If you're planning a romantic Valentine's Day Dinner or a grown-up Valentine's Day Party, try one of these festive cocktails in pink or red, or turn any cocktail into a Valentine's themed drink with this beautiful Pink  and Red Hearts Cocktail Rimming Sugar by Dell Cove Spice Co on Etsy (pictured above).

1. Whiskey Seduction via Saveur - This dark red drink gets its color from red wine and black current liqueur.

2. The Charleston Fizz via Saveur - This refreshing fizzy cocktail gets a light pink hue from grapefruit juice. Make a pretty pink garnish with a grapefruit slice.

3. Valen-tini via McCormick - Don't let the cheesy name stop you. This drink is thick, chocolatey, and very easy to make! While this one isn't pink or red, it's perfect for Valentine's Day if you garnish it with beautiful fresh strawberries.

4. Strawberry Fields Forever via Mix That Drink - Admittedly overwhelming with it's strawberry flavor, though according to the writer, this pink cocktail is perfect served with plain cheesecake. The hostess in me immediately pictured it served at a cocktail party with a dessert buffet of bite-size individual cheesecake squares.

The Love Bite cocktail is a delicious layered shooter drink. It tastes kind of like the B52, only more fruity and less sweet. It blends cherry and orange liqueurs with light cream to give it some richness.

5. The Love Bite via Mix That Drink (pictured) - This red drink is a cute little layered shooter that incorporates just three ingredients yet packs a nice little punch with tart cherry and orange liqueur.

6. Pretty In Pink Sangria by All Recipes via Yummly - If you're entertaining for a crowd on Valentine's Day, this drink is perfect, because you can make it ahead of time, and you can make it in a big self-serve pitcher.

7. Very Pink Raspberry Cosmopolitan by Barbara Kiebel via Creative Culinary - This raspberry cocktail is a gorgeous rich shade of fuschia and is very similar to a traditional cosmo with fresh raspberry juice and raspberry liqueur in place of the cranberry juice. Doesn't that sound delicious?

8. Red Hot Schnapps via Cocktail Times - This red cocktail takes a cue from the little Valentine red hots candies. It's a very easy cocktail with just a few ingredients. Given its hot cinnamon flavor, I wouldn't serve it at a party unless you have other flavor options.

9. The Raspberry Rose Collins via Saveur - With a garnish of raspberry and a rich pink shade, this drink is as beautiful as it is yummy. Serve it for a special event like a Valentine's Day ladies' brunch. It would look absolutely beautiful with the Dell Cove heart sprinkles.

10. Conversation Heart Vodka & Cupid's Kiss by Leah Bergman via Freutcake - To me nothing says Valentine's Day more than a little candy canversation heart. It basically the candy corn of Valentine's Day, right? It's not only festive but in a fun way that reminds me of being a kid. This recipe makes for a cute pink cocktail that utilizes a conversation hearts infused vodka and comes with a free printable for heart tags so you can give it as a gift or party favor.
