Gift Guide for the Dog Lover

I'm so excited to bring you guys today's holiday gift guide. This one is for all of the #dogmoms out there (and #dogdads). My husband and I have a German Shepherd named Emma (who is currently in a time out for pooping inside...again), but just like our other kids, we still love her. We'd also really love it if she'd quit going potty inside, but that is beside the point. The point is there is no shame in spoiling your sweet fur baby, especially during the holidays!! And while some of these gifts are items for your dog, some are great gift ideas for the dog lover in your life too.

The Dogist 2018 Wall Calendar by Elias Weiss Friedman author of The Dogist, for example, is the perfect Christmas gift for someone who loves dogs.

These super cute Christmas Plaid Dog Collars by Mr. Bow Tie Boutique would be the perfect holiday gift for doggies and dog owners alike! Whether you have family holiday photos coming up, or you simply want your furry friend to look festive for those…

Editor's Picks: Heart-Themed Party Favors

For a children's Valentine's Day party or heart-themed birthday, favors are a must, just like with any kid's party. Between the grocery store, dollar store, and craft stores; there are so many possibilities.

For a school party, some Valentine pencils and stickers are a safe bet and easy because you can get them ready ahead of time. The heart-shaped crayons pictured above are also great for school parties or birthday parties. You can make your own with leftover broken crayons and a silicone heart mold. Place a few in a clear cello bag and finish it off with ribbon. Around Valentine's Day, you may even be able to find small heart-themed notebooks or activity books for $1 each to pair with the crayons. Check in your local dollar store or the $1 section of your local craft store.

If it's an all-girl party, you can go girly and give some heart-shaped sunglasses, dress-up jewelry, or little heart bracelets. A very simple heart-themed party favor you can pick up from the craft store is a heart-shaped cookie cutter. You should be able to get them for about $1 each. Tie a pretty ribbon on for an instant heart favor.

Something sweet is always a great idea for a Valentine's Day party favor. Package some foil-wrapped chocolate hearts in festive favor bag. If you're down to the wire and your local supermarket is running low on Valentine's Day candy, you can always find some plain Hershey Kisses. Package them in heart-printed cello bags and tie with ribbon for a sweet love-themed party favor. If for some reason you can't get your hands on Hershey's kisses, or if you want  a dairy-free option, go for anything pink or red like gumballs or gummi candies. Though really any kind of sweet treat in the right favor packaging can make the perfect Valentine's Day party favor. Pictured: Wilton Heartfelt Valentine's Treat Envelopes

You can also let kids build their own favor bags. Get beautiful candies all in pink or purple or whichever color matches your party decor and arrange them in various glass containers. Supply cello candy bags and twisty ties so they can fill their own bag with their candies of choice. Pictured: pink candy party kit

I love the idea of throwing a Conversation Hearts themed party. Candy hearts come in mini boxes, the perfect size to give out as party favors, and you can also use them to decorate a cake or cupcakes.
