KCL 2018 Beauty Awards

Welcome to the latest beauty edit and the very first beauty awards here on the blog! I’ve tried so many wonderful beauty products this year and wanted to let you guys know which were my top must-have products of the year. I’ve picked from new and small businesses only, as I love to work with indie brands. And like most of the beauty brands I review; most of these are organic, natural, and cruelty-free.

These are the items that long after the required testing and promotion period, I find myself still using and preferring above any others. The're the products which despite a never ending stream of free PR samples, I would still spend my own money (and in some cases have) in order to get more of. And whether affordable or more costly, these are the beauty products that I truly think are worth the price. So if you’re thinking about adding more beauty or selfcare products into your 2019 routine, I highly recommend each of these brands.

Style Trend Spring / Summer 2014: Perforated Leather

One of the top spring/ summer 2014 style trends for women is perforated leather. Think of it as the new eyelet. It was only a matter of time really. Women's fashion has taken a strong, modern turn in recent years. Even the florals have become sleeker and edgy. While feminine trends like chiffon, lace, and pastels are still in for spring (as always), when it comes to eyelet and perforated fabrics, it's all about sleek leather and geometric shaped as opposed to the traditional boho-chic eyelet.

Designer brands like COACH, Tory Burch, Juicy Couture, and Michael Kors all have lots of new handbags in perforated leather for spring/ summer 2014. More affordable accessory brands like JustFab also have several perforated leather items out this season. Keep reading for my picks under $100.

While the trend is mostly seen on expensive designer leather pieces, there are still plenty of affordable perforated faux leather items available.

The perforated leather trend can go dressy or casual and for daytime or evening. For work, pair a perforated leather top with sleek trousers and a colorful satchel. For an evening out, you could swap out the trousers for a black mini skirt and black pointy-toe ankle-cuff pumps and swap out the satchel for a sleek envelope clutch.

The second look above is a casual boho-chic way to wear perforated leather. Pair laser-cut booties with skinny jeans and a tribal-print tank. Accessorize with some fringed earrings and a brown crossbody.
