Christmas Tour: Decoratively Speaking Events

I've got a treat for you guys today! It's a Christmas tour that is definitely a feast for the eyes. When I started my holiday page on Instagram this season, I happened upon quite a few interior design pages I wasn't yet following with my KCL Instagram. One of which caught my eye with beautiful event design. As we began to near the Christmas season, I noticed this design page posting more and more Christmas decor at various businesses. Talk about a dream job...being able to decorate so many different spaces for the holidays, with many different themes and colors!

As you can imagine, the designer at Decoratively Speaking Events is bound to have beautiful Christmas decor at home as well. From the fun vintage welcome, to the beautiful formal dining room, to the plaid Mackenzie-Childs Breakfast Room; you are sure to find some festive holiday inspo. Grab a cup of coffee (or hot cocoa) and enjoy!

The Trendiest Fashion One-Piece Swimsuits for Women

Fringed One Piece Swimsuits:  Fringe was a breakout swimsuit trend last year, and it's just as big for 2014. This year it comes on all different types of swimsuits, from a plunging fringed monokini to a one piece fringed bandeau swimsuit. It's the perfect swimsuit for a laid back boho-chic kind of gal.

Sporty One Piece Swimsuits:  Last year Tommy Hilfiger introduced a line a super sporty one pieces, while earlier this year peter Pilotto included a selection of rash guard tops for his Target capsule collection. Stores that aren't typically sporty, like J. Crew, also have a large selection of rash guards this spring and summer. Even designer brands like Nanette Lepore and Mara Hoffman have included several rash guard tops in their spring summer 2014 collections. It's one of the top swimsuit trends for 2014 by far. You can get the trend in a one piece version with a long sleeve surf suit.

Tank-style sporty one pieces are also in for 2014, often featuring illusion color blocking on the sides, cool zippers in the front, and sometimes mesh overlay panels.

Cutout One Piece Swimsuits: The cutouts trend last summer was...well, a bit hoochi. The trend was seen mainly on super skimpy monokinis that may have well been string bikinis considering how little they covered. For 2014 the cut-out swimsuit trend is much more wearable and appropriately more conservative than a bikini, yet it's still sexier than the traditional one piece.

Black Sheer Mesh Swimsuits: I covered this swimsuit trend a lot in 2013, and like most new swimsuit trends from last year, this one continues to get more and more popular for 2014 as well. I love it because you can show skin without really showing skin, so you don't have to worry about anything popping out. The sheer mesh offers coverage but still has some sex appeal. This type of swimwear looks so glamorous and really goes well with gold accessories. I love to pair mine with my Magid Metallic Gold Straw Tote.

One-Shoulder Swimsuits:  This is a trend that actually wasn't around much last season but is seen for 2014 in several collections including Michael Kors, Trina Turk, and Kenneth Cole. A one-shoulder swimsuit is a glamorous alternative to the traditional tank-style one piece.

Strapless Bandeau One Piece:  This is the most prevalent silhouette among fashion one pieces. It's often seen on graphic print swimsuits. Some of my favorites for 2014 are by Becca by Rebecca Virtue and Gottex. A bandeau one piece with shirring, color blocking, or side-swept pleating can really help create the illusion of a slimmer waist.

Swim Dresses:  These one piece swimsuits help balance out a pear-shaped figure. Often made with shirring or pleating, they help to cover the tummy, and the sweetheart neckline creates a vintage pinup girl look.

Ruffle-Top Swimsuits:  Ruffles are pretty much always in for spring and summer, though last year did include the rise of the flounce-top swimsuit trend. It's still in for 2014 and can be seen on anything from a flounce-top bandeau swimsuit to a ruffle-top plunging neckline swimsuit. It's the perfect swimsuit to add a little extra volume to the bust area.

Boy-leg Swimsuits (left to right): This vintage inspired swimsuit trend has been around for a few years now, and let's face it, it isn't going anywhere. The vintage trend only continues to increase. For the ultimate vintage pinup style swimsuit, go for a boy-leg one piece with seems down the sides and shirring in the middle, a halter strap, and a sweetheart neckline.

Criss-Cross Pleated Swimsuits: This swimsuit trend for 2014 is a gift from the hide-my-fat gods. Pleating alone helps to camouflage the tummy, but combine it with a side-swept criss crossing design, and you've got the most figure-flattering one piece for creating a smaller waist. Criss cross pleated swimsuits come in all different types from one-shoulder to strapless bandeau to halter strap so you can tailor the look to the rest of your body as well..

Plunging V Neckline:  This is another one of my favorite swimsuit trends for 2014. It's a really sexy way to show some skin without worrying about the tummy or bum hanging out.

  1. I have a black sheer mesh/solid combo swimsuit from over 12 years ago. Thrilled to see it's back in style... and I still fit it. I might have to wear it this year.

    Great picks here Krisztina!
