Gift Guide for the Dog Lover

I'm so excited to bring you guys today's holiday gift guide. This one is for all of the #dogmoms out there (and #dogdads). My husband and I have a German Shepherd named Emma (who is currently in a time out for pooping inside...again), but just like our other kids, we still love her. We'd also really love it if she'd quit going potty inside, but that is beside the point. The point is there is no shame in spoiling your sweet fur baby, especially during the holidays!! And while some of these gifts are items for your dog, some are great gift ideas for the dog lover in your life too.

The Dogist 2018 Wall Calendar by Elias Weiss Friedman author of The Dogist, for example, is the perfect Christmas gift for someone who loves dogs.

These super cute Christmas Plaid Dog Collars by Mr. Bow Tie Boutique would be the perfect holiday gift for doggies and dog owners alike! Whether you have family holiday photos coming up, or you simply want your furry friend to look festive for those…

An Easy and Affordable Way to Decorate A Big Blank Wall

I get so many search hits on the blog for "how to decorate a big blank wall", so I know it's something people struggle with when it comes to interior design. Whether it's in a children's room, a hallway, or a large living area, it seems we all end up with one big wall we either don't know what to do with or can't afford to fill in with artwork.

My favorite way to decorate these spaces is to start with the corners first. Fill them out with something tall, like a floor lamp or tall decorative plant, then fill in the remaining blank space with an inexpensive wall sticker. They come in so many different designs, from kids and nursery wall stickers to more sophisticated designs that look great in a main living space or adult's bedroom. I really love the inspirational quote stickers, but I'm picky when it comes to that type of wall decor. I feel like it should be personalized with a quote that means something to me and my family. For that kind of decal, I prefer the personalized wall stickers, so I can get exactly what I want.

My blank wall over my T.V. is always a hard place to fill in. While I don't like the big empty space above it, I also don't want to hang bulky artwork over it. A simple floral wall sticker is a beautiful way to fill in that space. It's also a great way to update walls in a rental space or dorm room, because it's easily removable, and unlike artwork that can cost hundreds of dollars, wall stickers are only about $30 - $50 on average. Do you have a large blank wall you could fill with a wall sticker? Here are some more of my favorite designs. As you can see, I'm a big fan of the nature-themed decals.
