Easy DIY Halloween Party Favors

There are so many cute Halloween party favor ideas floating about the web, like the witch's broom goodie bags for example, though they do require some DIY experience. These tin-tie bakery bags are the perfect size for a Halloween goodie bag, and they require no crafting skills. I love howthe favor bags I made them with are cute enough for kids but still nice enough for the grown-ups as well. All you need are the bakery bags, ribbon, and 3D Halloween stickers from the craft store. You can use the smaller bag pictured above or a larger bakery bag with a window display. I like to fill the larger ones with treats to give out as holiday presents to neighbors and teachers.

Simply fill the bags with a Halloween treat (homemade or store-bought), close them up and tie them off with ribbon, then affix a sticker to each bag. These are food-grade bags, so they're perfect to fill with homemade fall treats like popcorn, kettle corn, or Halloween chocolates. Try my DIY gourmet popcorn

How to Get Beautifully Bronzed for Summer

The Best Bronzers

One of the best things I've done to my beauty routine was adding bronzer and highlighter to my blush process. Bronzer really helps define the cheekbones and jawline and adds the perfect summer glow, while ighlighting helps bring focus and light to other areas. This makes a big difference especially in photos. It's perfect if you're going to be in a summer wedding. Related: Five Beauty Tips for Looking Gorgeous in Photos

This video tutorial below by Nur for HSN is one of the best I've seen on how to apply bronzer. You can get bronzer in several different forms, though my favorite is a powder compact. If you're new to bronzing, I suggest you skip the highlighting. Start with a simple bronzer and blush compact. I really like how the video instructs to use a matte bronzer. I've used a bronzer and highlighter with shimmer recently, and while I like the shimmer on my cheeks, the shimmery highlighter made the wrinkles on my forehead stand out a lot. Perhaps it's best to just stick with the blush when it comes to shimmer or an allover subtle illuminating primer. If you're ready to try both bronzing and highlighting, go for a trio or quad compact like the ones pictured above. I really love the Trish McEvoy quad. You can use the white powder to adjust the bronzer shade.

I especially love bronzer quads for travel and for getting ready in a hurry. I often use mine to double as eyeshadow. I've already blogged several times about how I prefer my bronzing quad for eyeshadow. I have dark brown hair with olive skin, so I love to use various brown shades on my eyes. For that I use a bronzer set with shimmer. I'm currently using this Wet N Wild Mega Glo powder. Whenever I only have a few minutes to apply makeup or if I'm just running errands, I simply swirl a small blush brush over the whole thing then swipe it over my cheeks and eyelids. It only takes a few seconds, and I'm literally done with my makeup in under 10 minutes.

If you don't already use a bronzer in addition to your blush, I encourage you to give it a try this summer. Here is some additional info on which bronzer shade to pick for your face and which type of makeup brush to use.
