Pic of the Week: Joseph Spangler Farm Barn in Gettysburg

The Joseph Spangler Farm Barn is one of my favorite buildings to photograph in Gettysburg. In this photo it's quite far in the distance, but I loved the view from the fence with the wildflowers in the field. This was taken from one of the roads by the Pennsylvania State Memorial. The Joseph Spangler Farm Barn was constructed after the battle at Gettysburg, though it is still considered a part of the Gettysburg National Miltary park both aesthetically and historically.  Farm buildings in the area provided shelter and a hide-out for Union cavalry on July 2 and 3, 1863.

  1. A beautiful country scene, and so much history to it.
