Pic of the Week: A Mother's Work Is Never Done

In my garden up front a momma duck has taken to laying eggs under one of our bushes the last two years. She sits dutifully on her eggs day and night, rain or shine. My girls feed her bits of crackers and bread each day. Such a devoted birdy deserves a little room service, don't you think? We're very eager to see the little ducklings hatch.

  1. I love this! It reminds me of the ducks at the park I used to take Collin to when he was little. They'd see us and come running. Once, the local newspaper ran a photo of the ducks leaving the park, with the caption, "Why Did the Ducks Cross the Road?"

Our car was parked on the other side.

    1. Aw, that's neat. There are so many around here. It's not unusual to see a mom and her babies crossing the road.
