3 Looks for a Summer Wedding

It seems not too long ago when I shared three looks to wear to a spring wedding. But that season has come and gone so quickly, and summer is upon us. And it is the biggest season of the year for weddings, so chances are you have a few invites and may be wondering what to wear. It's pretty easy to figure out summer wedding attire if you keep the location in mind.

Of course you have the invite to start with as well. It should say "Black Tie Attire" or "Black Tie Optional" or perhaps something like "Formal Beach Attire," and it will have the ceremony time. Generally indoor evening weddings call for more formal attire than outdoor afternoon weddings.

For an indoor wedding, no matter what time of year, you can never go wrong with a Black Formal Dresses. Dressy printed shorts are still on trend for 2014. I love the look, because it's a comfy way to be dressy casual in the hot summer months. The trend still focuses heavily on tribal and ikat prints, though florals look great too. The printed shorts for this summer tend to be high-waist like the ones last year. The only update for 2014 is that some are loose-fitted and flouncy, like the ones pictured below on the left. If you want to keep the look completely casual, go for printed denim shorts. How to Style Printed Shorts

You'll want to pair printed shorts with a simple top; if they're black and white, go for a simple white tank, but if they have a colorful print, you can pick up on one of the colors with a solid-colored tee or tank. If they're high-waist shorts, you can pair them with a crop top or hi-low tank. When it comes to accessories, I like to pick up on the overall feel of the print. Like with the tribal prints, a boho-chic fringed bag or a beaded wrap bracelet is just the thing. With a more nautical print or the floral print shorts pictured above, I'd go with a nice woven bag. Because the printed shorts tend to be somewhat dressy, I'd go for some nicer sandals as opposed to casual flip flops.
