My Favorite Jewelry Trends for Fall

As back-to-school approaches, I can't help but look forward to the Fall season. One of the best things about Fall in my opinion, is the fashion! With tall boots and suede hats to chic satchels and statement jewelry, it's the best time of the year to have fun with accessories. Personally, one of my favorite Autumn accessories, and the easiest way to update an outfit, is jewelry. From a big bold ear cuff to minimal gold necklaces with interesting little pendants, my fashion forecast for Fall this year includes more modern and sleek pieces.

For example, while I tend to love a pair of sparkly statement studs or a larger dangling statement earring, this Fall I see a modern ear cuff being one of the biggest earring trends, and it's definitely one of my favorite jewelry trends! Banana Bread Spiced Oatmeal


The holidays are a very hard time for me to eat healthy. There's pumpkin-spice everything, apple pie, and countless variations of banana bread. Just burning my fall-scented candles makes me crave an autumn dessert. I try to get my fix with spiced oatmeal. I like to add a chopped apple or some pumpkin pure along with spices like cinnamon and nutmeg to give me that taste of fall without all of the calories. My recent way of making my morning oatmeal gives me a healthier fix whenever I'm craving banana bread. With the sweetness from a ripe banana and stevia in place of sugar, this hearty and satisfying breakfast comes in around 250 calories. Garnish with almonds for added protein.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats + water for boiling
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • dash of nutmeg and ginger
  • 1 tsp vanilla 
  • 1 very ripe banana
  • 2 packets Stevia
  • slivered almonds for garnish (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Add the oats and all the ingredients aside from the banan to a small pot and fill with just enough water to cover the oats.

2. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and let simmer for a few minutes.

3. Add the banana right into the pot and use a fork or hand-held masher to mash it up. You can leave it lumpy if you want to. Stir and simmer for a few more minutes until thickened. Enjoy!
