Blogger Style: NYFW Fall 2018

NYFW has come and gone, though the beautiful street style looks continue to grace my Instagram feed, and I am loving it! I don't know how these bloggers do it...running from show to show, and add to that the parties, sponsor events, fittings, and meetings. Yet they still have time to churn out content for readers as well. Anyone who thinks blogging isn't a job knows absolutely nothing about blogging! These ladies are so inspiring, not just with their killer style, but with their self-made and much earned successes. Here are just a few of my faves and a snippet of the top looks from the concrete runway. Enjoy!

Aimee Song from Song of Style is my all-time fave. She has the best fashion week videos, and as you can see, is just so cool. I love that her style is always inspirational yet relatable. Song incorporates unique trends and top brands but styles them in a way that isn't too out there. She often has the most exquisite accessory details, as you can also see above, and i…

My Fall Style Wish List 2014

I think this is the longest wish list I've made on the blog so far. There are just so many different trends I want this year. And I don't simply want a fall jacket: I want a denim jacket and a leather jacket and about 5 different kinds of moto jackets, not to mention cardigans and blazers. Though I will probably wind up just getting a black moto jacket. I love the wool moto jacket pictured above. I would love to replace my typical large pea coat with that this winter as I no longer have to dress for East Coast winters. It would look perfect with skinny jeans and some black ankle boots or a pair of over-the-knee riding boots. I'd also love a sweater dress like the one featured above. In the summer I love to just throw on a dress whenever I'm going out. It's a quick and easy (and in my opinion, comfy) way to look great whenever I want to look a little nicer than usual. The knit scarf is of course a must, but I would really like to get a chunky infinity scarf. It can be doubled up and layered over a sweater in the same color to give the illusion of a cowl-neck sweater.

Over-the-knee boots are a huge shoe trend for fll 2014. I like the ones that look like typical riding boots but skim just over the front of the knee. I'd pair them with the Madewell Skinny Zip jeans and the red buffalo check shirt pictured above. I also included a simple cropped tee in my list. I know it may seem odd for fall, but bear with me here. It's a great neutral piece you can pair with a high-waisted maxi skirt or a high-waisted pencil skirt with a blazer layered on top. Then in the spring and summer, you can pair it with any kind of maxi skirt or a banded fit-and-flare skirt to let a little skin show.

A 3/4" sleeve shirt dress is perfect for fall. You can pair it with riding boots, ankle boots, or ballet flats; and in the spring and summer, you can pair it with sandals. For those chilly fall mornings, you can layer it with thick tights and a cardigan or blazer. The blazer pictured above is incredibly versatile for just about any type of look or season. Look for a semi-fitted blazer with 3/4 " sleeves and no more than two front buttons.

I'm always a sucker for a neutral black satchel during fall. It goes with so many things in my closet. And a satchel with some boho-chic flare to it, like the fringed black satchel above, will also work during spring and summer. Another summer item you might be surprised to see on my fall wish list is the summer maxi. A long flowy tank dress like the one above is actually quite perfect for fall. You can belt it and layer on a blazer or moto jacket, and in the winter, you can layer on a luxurious sweater to recreate this look by Ralph Lauren. A typical but most essential fall and winter staple I included is the loose-fitting crew neck sweater. Get one in a solid color so you can layer it over a collar shirt, and so you can throw on a glitzy statement necklace to make it party-ready in a snap. Get a statement necklace with a little edge to it, like the spiked necklace above, and you can pair it with anything from a cocktail dress to that crew-neck sweater to a graphic tee with a blazer.

  1. The plaid shirt's looking a bit lumberjackish!
