Pic of the Week: Ladybugs


I have to say, it was quite difficult to refrain from titling this something immature like "Afternoon Delight". I was taking macro shots at a flower garden and noticed a cute little ladybug. When I got the image up on a larger screen, I realized I'd actually caught two ladybugs making sweet love. I'm not sure what it is about insects mating that I find so hilarious. When they're in this position, it just looks so funny; I think it personifies them in a way. Though according to Learn About Nature, ladybug mating can last up to two hours, and that isn't even including the foreplay! That is quite impressive.
