3 Looks for a Summer Wedding

It seems not too long ago when I shared three looks to wear to a spring wedding. But that season has come and gone so quickly, and summer is upon us. And it is the biggest season of the year for weddings, so chances are you have a few invites and may be wondering what to wear. It's pretty easy to figure out summer wedding attire if you keep the location in mind.

Of course you have the invite to start with as well. It should say "Black Tie Attire" or "Black Tie Optional" or perhaps something like "Formal Beach Attire," and it will have the ceremony time. Generally indoor evening weddings call for more formal attire than outdoor afternoon weddings.

For an indoor wedding, no matter what time of year, you can never go wrong with a Black Formal Dresses. An elegant knee-length cocktail dress, like this FAIRY COUPLE Women's Off the Shoulder Lace Vintage Wedding Party Cocktail Dress is perfect for a black-tie optional indoor wedding, while a sleeveless o…

How to Dress Up Like Disney's Maleficent

Halloween is a fun time to dress up and be someone else for the night. I gravitate towards darker characters like witches and vampires. This year the perfect choice is Maleficent. I especially love this costume idea, because both kids and adults would know who I'm pretending to be. Last year I was Wednesday from The Addams Family, and sadly too many little kids asked, "Who are you??" Clearly their parents had yet to introduce them to one of the best movies ever. But with the popular Disney movie Maleficent, I'm quite certain I won't get that question this Halloween. If only I could talk me daughter into being Aurora instead of Anna or Elsa! As Maleficent is a very popular costume for 2014, there are a lot of different costume options. *This content contains affiliate links.

Accessories for Maleficent Women's Costume

Of course you can't be Maleficent without the right accessories. The single most important one is the horns. Most of the costumes come with horns, but I'm not sure I like them all that much aside from this kind. You can purchase Maleficent horns separately. I absolutely love the Women's Deluxe Maleficent Horns pictured above. They were originally prices closer to $100, though this year they were marked down to $40.00 and are currently on sale for $17.27. Some other budget options are these Elope Deluxe Maleficent Horns priced at under $25. Other accessories you can add onto a Maleficent costume include the staff, a black raven, and gloves.

Here is an excellent make-up tutorial for Maleficent. I've tracked down a similar green color contact that she uses in the tutorial here.
