October Letter from the Editor

Hi! I hope you're September was great! Mine was...interesting, challenging. I keep telling my friends that since I've moved to San Antonio, I feel like a cranky baby whose schedule is out of whack. It's usually hard enough to adjust to a new school year, but moving as well has made it that much more challenging. But I've learned to cut myself some slack. Who cares that there has been a clean load of laundry on my couch all week, waiting to be put up. Like my mother always says, "The dirty laundry will still be there tomorrow." Hell, it'll probably be there next week! There will also be days when my children have cereal for dinner, or they wear the same jeans they wore yesterday, because I forgot to put in a new load, and that's totally okay. As we head into the busy holiday season, don't forget to cut yourself some slack.

What's Coming Up this Month

I still plan to post lots of fall fashion guides, though I'm switching gears a bit for the holidays. It's my favorite time of year for crafts, decor, and of course new recipes! I recently created an easy recipe for a fall sangria (pictured above) and a pumpkin-filled fall centerpiece (also pictured above) that I can't wait to share with you. For fall crafts, I plan to make an autumn wreath as well as some creations with a roll of chevron burlap I couldn't resist. FYI: Wal-Mart recently put out rolls of burlap in all sizes, colors, and designs! I'm sure you can also get them at a craft store if you're the type of person who hates Wal-Mart. Hey, I get it! Of course I also plan to add lots of Halloween posts. I'm moving my Halloween blog to this site. It just makes sense since this blog is doing so much better. Though I plan to add plenty of brand new Halloween recipes and costume guides as well. 1. I imagine it takes a few weeks after that kind of move to really get yourself settled.
