December Letter from the Editor

This letter from the editor is a bit late, I know. Last weekend threw me for a loop with some personal matters. But better late then never! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family, friends, and lots of yummy food! I made several new recipes that I'll post before Christmas so you guys can use them for holiday entertaining. I made a new cranberry layer cake topped with these sugared cranberries and a maple cinnamon frosting. Yum! I also made a sausage and mushroom stuffing and olive oil and herb mashed potatoes that were so good, they both earned a lifetime place at my holiday table (not an easy task). And for the first time in about a decade of roasting holiday turkey, I have to say this one was by far the best, and even the breast meat was juicy and tender. I will definitely share that recipe before Christmas!

As we head into the last few weeks before Christmas, I just want to remind you to enjoy it. The holidays don't have to be a stressful time. It's sad but I think Christmas is ironically more stressful to the people who have more. They have the money to decorate, entertain, and hunt for the trendiest new toy of the season. This can add a lot of pressure to make everything perfect. Don't forget that the perfect Christmas is relaxing, fun, and full of warm memories you make with the ones you love.
