KCL Friday Finds

Hey, guys! Welcome to KCL Friday Finds and happy first day of Fall!!🍁🍂 It is by far my favorite time of the year. We've been looking forward to Fall for several weeks now on these Friday posts, but today it is officially Autumn at last! Naturally, today's picks are all about Fall. Enjoy!

This first one is absolutely stunning! I've featured a few wreaths on the blog already, and continue to see new ones I want to show you guys. It's such an easy and festive way to update your home for the season.

This Preserved Moss and Bittersweet Vine Wreath by Queen Bee Wreath really caught my attention. Debbie sells the most beautifully preserved floral arrangements and wreaths. I love that they give the look of real florals but last a bit longer than fresh arrangements. The bittersweet vine (pictured above) that she uses in several of her designs creates such a unique look for Fall. Place your order by September 29th to receive 10% off any order over $50!

A Simple Glam Makeup Tutorial with e.l.f. Cosmetics

A smoky eye is one of the top makeup looks for a night out, as is the classic red lip, but as a mom, I like to go with something a little more wearable and easy to apply. It's typical to go with either bold eye makeup and more neutral lips or a bold lip and more natural eye makeup. I really love to stick with my daytime eye makeup bumped up a notch with shimmer and winged eyeliner. Then I can add on a berry lipstick or a light red-tinted gloss as I'm rushing out the door. Though the eyes are still subtle enough, I could add on bold red lipstick if I wanted to. I've created this look with some of my recent favorites from e.l.f cosmetics.

My favorite new makeup product for getting this look is the e.l.f. Cosmetics Baked Eyeshadow Palette, California edition. The shimmer eyeshadow colors range from a light champagne to a gold and copper with a few cool tones in blue and purple. I love how the blues and purples aren't too heavily pigmented, so they blend very easily for a glam but somewhat neutral look. Though you could pile on one of the shades for a more bold look. I'm pretty picky about my shimmer makeup. Anything too glittery, and I feel like I'm back in high school with my cheer leading uniform on and a ridiculous bow in my hair. The e.l.f. baked palette is just the right amount of shimmer for an elegant evening look.

I started with e.l.f. BB Cream, e.l.f. Studio complete coverage concealer, and a mineral blend powder, then completed the look with bronzing powder along the jawline and underneath the cheekbones, shimmer blush on the cheeks, and a red lip gloss.  Here's how to use the e.l.f. baked palette for your evening out.

*Tip: Hold a tissue over your under-eye areas as you apply the shadow to avoid getting extra shimmer where you don't want it.
