The KCL Beauty Edit

Welcome to another KCL Beauty Edit! I've really loved so many of the beauty and makeup products I tried last month. There is usually at least one dud in the bunch that I reluctantly have to give a bad review, but I have something good to say about each one of these products. A few of them I very highly recommend, so grab a cup of coffee and check it all out. If you have a question about any of the products mentioned, please leave it below in the comments section. And if you don't have time to read this, you can skip ahead and listen to my video review here while you work or whatever. Enjoy!

The new skincare line I tried last month was from LHB Natural Skincare, which included a facial wash and two different facial serums. I recently posted about LHB in an anti-aging skincare routine blog and video to show how I use each of these products. Of course I started with the facial wash, which I really loved. The LHB Coconut & Sea Clay Mineral Face Wash is great for any skin type…

Two Last-Minute Date Night Outfits

If you're going on a last-minute date, you can still put together a chic look with items you already have in your closet. If you're going on a simple dinner date or out to a movie, you need to wear something that is "dressy casual". You can't go wrong with some dark-wash jeans and dressy flats. Pair them with a nice blouse or layer a sweater with a shiny statement necklace. Add on a sleek crossbody bag just big enough to sneak in movie snacks!

Shop this look: L K Bennett lightweight sweater, $140 / Topshop jeans / Forever 21 pointed toe shoes / Mossimo crossbody shoulder bag / Black white jewelry

If you have a last-minute cocktail party or fancy dinner yet find yourself lacking in cocktail dresses, you can create your own dressy look with separates you may already own. Pair a nice blouse or a camisole tank with a pencil skirt to create the look of a dress, or pair it with dress slacks. Top off the look with pumps, statement earrings, and a sleek clutch.

Shop this look: Red camisole, $4.59 / Warehouse black knit mini skirt, $54 / Kurt Geiger slip on pumps / Forever 21 grey handbag / Sole Society statement stud earrings / Hinged cuff bracelet

  1. Oh, I like that outfit!

For the most part, I'm not much of a clotheshorse--for everyday, I wear the same thing (hey, it works for guys like Jobs and Zuckerberg, and there are a couple of women in high fashion who also have a "uniform" of sorts)--but I do have a thing for black with bold colors for contrast.

    1. Unless it's an event, I tend to wear the same thing too - yoga pants if I'm chilling and jeans with a blouse if I need to run errands. Though the summer is different - an excuse for me to wear more dresses!

  2. Except for the shoes. I never wear heels and pointy toes are also a no-no.
