A Peek Inside My Spring Makeup Bag

Spring is all about lightening up, whether it's a neutral eyeshadow palette or a light floral scent. I have to admit, I typically go straight from the smokey makeup of fall and winter to the shimmery bronze colors for summer, but this spring I dove into all of the vibrant pink trends.

Pictured above I'm wearing the e.l.f. Hypershine Lip Gloss. There are so many pretty pink shades in the collection that are perfect for spring. It's my favorite new gloss to put on when I'm in a hurry or just running around to the shops on a weekend afternoon. The boxed set pictured above is just $6 at Target!

When I have a little more time to apply lipstick, I love the Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick in The Pinks, and I especially like the hot pink lip trend for 2015. My favorite hot pink lipstick is the Revlon Super Lustrous in Fuchsia Fusion (pictured above).

Hot pink is also a huge makeup trend this spring when it comes to nail polish. There are several great pink shades by NYC Lasting Color, but I also really love the Rimmel London 60 Seconds + Rita Ora polish in "Don't Be Shy" (pictured above). For a light shade, I love the Sinful Colors Vacation Time polish. It's the perfect nude polish for tan skin.

Spring is also a time to lighten up on foundation. When the warmer weather and humidity hits, I swap out my Garnier BB Cream for the e.l.f. BB Cream. It isn't as moisturizing as the Garnier kind, but it stays on a lt better in the spring and summer months. It's also a little heavier but not too heavy, so it's the perfect BB cream to wear on its own without foundation.

My go-to eyeshadow this spring has been the e.l.f. Essential Flawless Eyeshadow in "blushing beauty". The pink color in this palette is neutral but very rich, and you can apply it as sheer or heavy as you want. In addition to the pink shadow, I had to stock up on a nudes palette. The "nudes" eye shadows that are heavily trending for spring and summer this year offer a wide variety of nude, bronze, brown, and smokey charcoal shades you can mix and match to create anything from a subtle office look to a sexy date-night look.

This season I also swapped out my bronzer and blush for something new. I gave the e.l.f. blush/bronzer in "Antigua" a try, and I love it! It has just enough shimmer, and I love to use it on my eyes too. If you have very fair skin, try the e.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder in "St. Lucia"
