KCL 2018 Beauty Awards

Welcome to the latest beauty edit and the very first beauty awards here on the blog! I’ve tried so many wonderful beauty products this year and wanted to let you guys know which were my top must-have products of the year. I’ve picked from new and small businesses only, as I love to work with indie brands. And like most of the beauty brands I review; most of these are organic, natural, and cruelty-free.

These are the items that long after the required testing and promotion period, I find myself still using and preferring above any others. The're the products which despite a never ending stream of free PR samples, I would still spend my own money (and in some cases have) in order to get more of. And whether affordable or more costly, these are the beauty products that I truly think are worth the price. So if you’re thinking about adding more beauty or selfcare products into your 2019 routine, I highly recommend each of these brands.

Get the Look: Watercolor Home Decor

Spring home decor doesn't have to be all about flowers. Watercolor-inspired pieces are a beautiful and modern way to update your space this season. I've always been a fan of watercolor art, and now the look is available on so many other items like kitchen ware, linens, and candles. I love how you can pick from several different color schemes. A neutral, modern look calls for a wide mix of colors or the warm shades like red and yellow. For a feminine look of course you can go with more pinks. For a calming and rich look, go with dark purples and blues. I'd use the cool tones in a bedroom, a wide mix of pastels in a living space, and the warm tones in a kitchen or office. You can still go with a beautiful floral print when decorating with watercolor accessories, but it's also a great opportunity to incorporate modern abstract patterns.

For a girly bathroom or office or even a large walk-in closet, I'd definitely go with a watercolor fashion print like the one pictured above!

Incorporate the watercolor trend into your kitchen with beautifully hand-painted teal towels or a cute food-themed art print. How cute is that "Donut worry Be happy" print!?
