The Hottest Summer Makeup Trends for 2015
A Natural Glow - A healthy summer glow in the world of makeup often refers to a high-shimmer bronzed look. But for 2015, the natural makeup trend is in fact all about a more natural look. Bold color and shimmer are still big makeup trends for summer; but when it comes to "natural makeup", the look has taken on a much more subdued look in matte shades of nude, brown, and pink. Hot Pink Lips - This spring one of the top-trending lip colors was hot pink. This fun and flirty lip color is trending into summer as well. It's one of my favorite makeup trends of the year; it's not as severe as red, but it still creates a bold and sexy look. Olivia Wilde is wearing the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick above. I love this lipstick and have used it in several editorial shoots and tutorials this year. It's under $5, goes on very smooth and creamy, and the colors are very rich. My favorite shade of hot pink is "Fushsia Fusion." Pictured Above: Olivia Wilde for Revlon
Neutral Smokey Eye - This smokey eye for summer can be achieved with several different product trends like the baked eyeshadow, nude palettes, or creamy smudge pots. I love the smudge pots and cream eye shadows for a bold look, but I prefer the baked and nudes eyeshadow palettes, because they can create either a subtle or a bold look depending on how heavily you apply it. It's a great eyeshadow for day-to-evening. Pictured Above: Maybelline The Blushed Nudes
Vacation-Worthy Nails - From all the new at-home gel polishes to the usual shimmering summer hues, nail polish for summer 2015 is all about rich island colors and hi-shine. Nudes are also trending heavily this summer, but for the most part, the hottest nail colors are rich and bold. Pictured Above: ZOYA Paradise Sun Summer 2015
Bright, Bold Color on the Eyes - From all-over color to brightly-lined eyes, bold color is another makeup trend that pops up every summer. When it comes to bold color for the eyes, blue is the top-trending color for summer 2015. You can wear the trend all over the lid with traditional powder eyeshadow, or you can incorporate one of the many blue eyeliners available this season. Try an eye crayon like the L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow Crayon 2-in-1 liner and shadow in Always Aqua. For a subtle version of the trend, try the look pictured above by applying a sheer blue eyeshadow along the lash line. Pictured Above: Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow in "Passionate."
