KCL Friday Finds

Happy weekend!! I've got another round up of beautiful home decor items for you guys today. It hasn't been intentional, it just so happens that the Friday Finds participants have all been home decor shops lately, and I'm loving it! With Spring coming up soon, it's the perfect time to spruce things up around the house and update your decor for the new season. Pictured: Geometric Pineapple Jewelry Holder/Home Accessory

First up is something we could all use more of in our homes - hygge by Snygge Home (pronounced snoo-gue). Snygge is a play on the danish word hygge that I'm sure you've heard of by now...or at least seen and thought what is hygge anyway? Hygge is "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being." You can read more about it on Hygge Home.

At Snygge Home, owner Alice and her boyfriend Jack create hygge-inspired homeware, gifts, and event decorations using 3D printing. And like most E…

My Favorite Nude Nail Colors

Nude nail polish is one of the top nail color trends every spring and summer. Seeing all of those manicures in delicate pale shades always makes me wish I could pull it off, but with my darker olive skin tone, it just doesn't look right. But when I tried Sinful Colors in Vacation Time, I was pleasantly surprised at how great it looked. Turns out there are a lot of nude nail colors out there that look great on darker skin tones.

The Lauren B Nude Collection has several different shades, from light to very dark, nearly all of which would be great on darker skin tones. I really like the Lauren B Beauty Nude Collection Polish No. 3. It has a very pretty warm tone to it. If you want to try a true brown, go for Lauren B. Beauty Nude Collection Nail Lacquer - Nude No.5.

These polishes by ZOYA are two perfect examples of what to look for in a nude shade if you have darker skin. The idea isn't necessarily to pick a darker nude. You don't want it to just blend into your skin, and if you prefer feminine colors, you may not want a pure brown polish. Pick something that has some color to it. A darker nude with either a purplish tint, like the ZOYA Normani or a darker nude with a pinkish tint, like the ZOYA Brigitte are both excellent choices.

If you're still unsure on which shade to try, check out these essie polishes in their neutrals, grays, and browns. On Amazon you can select each color to see what it looks like on. You can even select specific skin tones to see a picture of what it would look like on you. To the right of the product pic, you'll see the "see it on" option, and to the far right, you can select different nail polish colors. Once you've selected your shade and "see it on" you can customize the skin tone in the display.

  1. Zoya Brigette looks gorgeous! I may have just found my next polish purchase! I'm super pale so it won't really be a nude for me, though!

    1. That's one of my favorites. It's so pretty! It would look great on lighter skin too.
