25 Halloween Costumes w/Your LBD

The easiest way to create a last-minute or inexpensive Halloween costume is to start with things you already have. I do it every year, because I get so frustrated with how expensive yet poorly-made most Halloween costumes are. I'd rather use what is already in my closet, or spend a little extra on accessories or a new dress that I can wear anytime of the year. A little black dress is the easiest way to use what you have to create a Halloween costume with a few inexpensive accessories and other accessories you probably already have in your closet.Pictured Above: Halloween Black Mesh Dress

1. Black Cat - This is the easiest way to use your little black dress on Halloween. I know it's pretty much the most generic costume in history, but for good reason - it's just so easy and affordable. It's the perfect last-minute costume for women, because you could really use any black outfit even if you don't have a little black dress. Pair it with your black flats or heels and a…

Monthly Beauty Faves

My favorite beauty products for July were all about beating the heat and getting ready in a hurry. With more events and places to be, it was also about versatile makeup that works from day to evening. Some are products I've tried before, like the e.l.f BB Cream; while others were new, like the Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadow pictured above.

1. Maybelline New York Eye Studio Color Tattoo Metal 24 Hour Cream Gel Eyeshadow - I LOVE this new cream eyeshadow. I've used creamy eyeshadow before, but they always clump in the creases. The Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadow stays put and looks amazing. It's the perfect amount of shimmer without being too glittery. So far I've used it in "Bad to the Bronze" (pictured above), and I love it for a day-to-evening shade. You can mix and match colors for a two-tone look, but it looks beautiful on it's own; no need to contour or add shimmer. Just apply this one product from the lash line to the brow bone for a quick and easy look. For about $5 a piece, I may end up with one in every color. They come in a few beautiful neutral shades as well as a few darker, more dramatic shades.

2. e.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder, Antigua - I started using this a few months ago to create a spring beauty look, and I kept using it into the summer for a quick all-over daytime look. The bronzer is such a beautiful shade with just the right amount of shimmer. Whenever I have just a second to swipe on some blush, the pink shade is just as beautiful on its own. Either shade can double as eyeshadow for a major last-minute makeup look. You can find the e.l.f Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder in additional shades for different skin tones.

3. Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Liner, Black - My favorite eyeliner lately is the new kohl eyeliner a lot of different makeup brands have come out with this year. They tend to come in plastic tubes and are almost like thin crayons, though they glide on more smoothly than traditional eyeliner. I really loved using mine this summer; I tend to wear a cat eye, but liquid liner takes too long and is sometimes too dramatic for daytime and summer events. These kohl liners are perfect for drawing on a super-quick cat eye that is perfect for day to night.

4. Garnier Hair Care Fructis Full and Plush Root Amp Root Lifting Spray Mousse - For all-over hold and especially to beat the summer humidity I LOVE the Garnier Fructis Anti-Humidity Hairspray, but for a quick touch of volume without blow drying the hair, this stuff is perfect! Lift up sections at the front and on top to spray a little onto slightly air-dried hair, concentrating on the roots, before you style as usual.

I love all of the new Garnier De-Constructed hair products as well. Here is a great video tutorial for easy beach waves if you have naturally wavy hair like me. I use the De-Constructed Beach Spray used in the video, and I also start with the root amp spray then finish off with the anti-humidity hair spray. For crazy fly-aways in my new layered bob, I also use the Garnier Deconstructed Pixie Play Crafting Cream. That may seem like a lot of products, but it sure beats having to spend an hour with a hairdryer and curling iron. Aside from air-drying time, it only takes me about five to ten minutes to fix my hair.

5. e.l.f. Studio BB Cream - I've long been a fan of the Garnier BB Cream, but in the summer heat and humidity, I needed something that wasn't quite so moisturizing and with much more staying power. I've tried the long-lasting foundations, but in the Midwestern heat, it's a losing battle. When I first tried this brand of bb cream, it was a little thick for my liking and wasn't as good at moisturizing as the Garnier. However when I tried the e.l.f. BB Cream again this summer, I was sold! It keeps my skin from getting too oily, and it really stays put with the addition of a good finishing powder. It also gives a bit more coverage than the typical BB cream, so it functions like something in between a light BB cream and a foundation.

6. Maybelline New York Fit Me! Powder - I can honestly say this is my most favorite face powder I've ever used! There are some makeup products which I feel like I've searched for just the right brand for years and years; like mascara, foundation, and powder. Every now and then, I find something that has me sold for life. This is totally one of those products. It offers so much coverage even on a humid Oklahoma summer day. Trust me, that is saying a lot! I use a large powder brush to swirl it on in circles until it has completely covered the shine. You can put on just a little for a more sheer effect, but you can also put on a few layers for a stay-put matte finish that still looks natural. It's hard to believe this is only about $5.00.
