3 Looks for a Summer Wedding

It seems not too long ago when I shared three looks to wear to a spring wedding. But that season has come and gone so quickly, and summer is upon us. And it is the biggest season of the year for weddings, so chances are you have a few invites and may be wondering what to wear. It's pretty easy to figure out summer wedding attire if you keep the location in mind.

Of course you have the invite to start with as well. It should say "Black Tie Attire" or "Black Tie Optional" or perhaps something like "Formal Beach Attire," and it will have the ceremony time. Generally indoor evening weddings call for more formal attire than outdoor afternoon weddings.

For an indoor wedding, no matter what time of year, you can never go wrong with a Black Formal Dresses. An elegant knee-length cocktail dress, like this FAIRY COUPLE Women's Off the Shoulder Lace Vintage Wedding Party Cocktail Dress is perfect for a black-tie optional indoor wedding, while a sleeveless o…

That 70's Girl

It started with round-toe mod boots and faux fur vests. Then fringe completely exploded as one of the biggest must-have trends. Add to that button-front skirts, off-the-shoulder tops, and wide-brim suede hats; it's easy to see an overall look continuing to dominate. This 70s-inspired look is one of my favorites, as it has allowed the boho-chic trend that is usually only typical of summer continue into fall as one of the top trends of the season. One of my favorites in the 70s trend is the lace-up top. It's a really sexy take on the 70s trend. A loose-fitting boho lace-up top is great over shorts or flare jeans, while a fitted solid lace-up top is perfect to tuck into a button-front mini skirt (another top trend for the 70s revival look). While last year, the kick flare was popular, and before that the wide leg, this year the 70s flare has been reinterpreted in a cropped and only slightly flared version. Though I still highly recommend playing around with a wide-leg pair of jeans. Pictured: DL1961 Women's Joy High Rise Flare Jean (similar available here >)

My personal favorite part of the 70s trend is fringe. If those boots are a bit much for you, a simple fringed crossbody bag is an easy and cute way to add some boho-chic to your look. Pictured: Glamorous Black Studded Fringed Over The Knee Boots

Quick Tips for Wearing the Trend
  • Keep it modern with simple colors and prints.
  • Complete the look with a 1970s hairstyle - boho waves.
  • Pick boho pieces in black and other dark colors to keep the look more appropriate for fall and winter.
  • Keep jewelry simple with thin layered pieces like pendant necklaces, bangles, or stacking rings.
  • Transition your peasant tops into winter by layering on a faux fur vest.
