Monthly Beauty Faves

Cat eye ✅ red lips ✅✅  posted by (@krisztinawilliams) on

Last month, my beauty picks were all about date night...date nights in the relentless Oklahoma heat and humidity. It was all about makeup with staying power and well, makeup that doesn't get in the way of kissing. But don't ask me any questions, because I try not to kiss and tell. Though I will say that I'm feeling quite lucky to have found someone who thoroughly enjoys how girly I am.

First, I ditched my glittery summer lip glosses, because I figured most guys wouldn't care to get glitter all over their faces. I love a red lip for date night, but again is the issue of getting it on the other person. My solution to that has been a lip stain paired with a tinted lip balm. It lasts for hours and doesn't rub off. My favorite red lip stain is "Crimson Crush" by e.l.f. Cosmetics (pictured above). Though it can be a little drying if used by itself. I topped it off with the e.l.f. Lip Balm Tint for some moisture and just a bit of shine.

For my eyes, I've been using two different eye shadows all month. I know the tempatation with date night is to go with a sexy smokey eye, but that doesn't have to take a lot of time and layering of products if you find the right color. I absolutely love both the ULTA eye shadow in Twilight
and the Maybelline 24 Hour Eyeshadow in Bad To The Bronze. They're great for layering, but they also look beautiful by themselves. A quick application over the lids and just under the brow bones to the outside corners of the eyes creates the perfect date night look in just a few minutes.

A cat eye is perfect for date night. When I have time on the weekends, I like to use liquid liner. If I'm pressed for time, I use a black crayon eyeliner. I've been using the New York Color Liquid Eyeliner in Black, and I'm quite impressed with it, especially for the price. It's fairly easy to apply with the fine-tip brush, it dries quickly, and it stays put all evening.

I'll tell you what I'm not too impressed with is the Maybelline New York Eye Studio Master Kajal Eyeliner. It smudged off somewhere between dinner and a movie. Though it does go on so smoothly, I can use it as a base to draw a guideline for the liquid liner.

For my nails, I'm all about the red lately. My recent favorites in red include Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Queen of Hearts, NYC New York Color Quick Dry Polish in Columbus Circle Crimson (pictured above), and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Polish in Quick Brick.

Of course for date night, perfume is an essential. I was out of my favorite, Victoria's Secret Sheer Love, when I stumbled upon the new Flower Beauty Line by Drew Barrymore. The line has several new fragrances for women. My favorite is Radiant.
