My Favorite Nail Polish Colors for Fall
Before I get into all of the trends for this fall season, I thought I'd share some of my favorite classics that I love to wear each year, starting with nail polish. It is one of my favorite bits of makeup to wear no matter what the occasion.
For fall I tend to go with darker nail colors in feminine shades - a sexy red, a rich burgundy or plum, or a dark purple. Those are my go-to nail colors this time of year, though I may venture out of my comfort zone and try navy this year.

Lately I really like the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy nail polish in "Queen of Hearts." It's the perfect sexy red that is just dark enough. I plan to wear it a lot this fall. Another favorite red of mine is essie in Double-Breasted Jacket.
My favorite plum nail polish for fall is one I've been wearing and mentioning quite often since this spring. It's the Rimmel London 60 Seconds nail polish in Picasilly Line, pictured above.
For a darker purple, I love Essie In the Lobby. It goes on like an oxblood shade, but with an extra coat, it takes on a deep plum shade. Essie is by far my favorite nail polish line. It's a little pricey, but so worth the price. The colors and quality are amazing, and the formula lasts long without chipping. The In the Lobby shade is unfortunately no longer widely available in stores, but the essie Bahama Mama is similar and is currently available on Amazon, as is the OPI in Black Cherry Chutney.
Of course I keep in mind what I'm going to be wearing to an event before I pick my color. A rich red polish goes so well with browns, while the darker purple or a classic red is perfect with black.
