25 Halloween Costumes w/Your LBD

The easiest way to create a last-minute or inexpensive Halloween costume is to start with things you already have. I do it every year, because I get so frustrated with how expensive yet poorly-made most Halloween costumes are. I'd rather use what is already in my closet, or spend a little extra on accessories or a new dress that I can wear anytime of the year. A little black dress is the easiest way to use what you have to create a Halloween costume with a few inexpensive accessories and other accessories you probably already have in your closet.Pictured Above: Halloween Black Mesh Dress

1. Black Cat - This is the easiest way to use your little black dress on Halloween. I know it's pretty much the most generic costume in history, but for good reason - it's just so easy and affordable. A Romantic Red Tablescape

The holidays will always be a romantic time for me. My husband and I got engaged on Christmas Eve, and married the next year in December. Red roses, which he gave me many times (including the ones you see here in this post), were the centerpiece flower in our wedding. I do love traditional greens for Christmas, but there is nothing prettier and more meaningful to me than red roses mixed in with the holiday greenery. Here is a simple and elegant way to use red roses for a holiday tablescape.

I picked up these large mirror plates at ROSS last year for about $4 a piece, and have used them in so many different ways for entertaining. They can by used for displaying candles, and they're perfect as fancy serving platters, for example. You can also find them in smaller sizes to use as mirrored charger plates.

Lined up in the center of the table, they made for a gorgeous mirrored table runner. I really wanted to highlight the red flowers and show that you don't have to have a ton of color and fabric to create beautiful centerpiece. The reds reflected in the mirrors makes the centerpiece appear much more filled-in.

The mini dessert bowls are perfect for scattering mini bouquets throughout the centerpiece, while red pillar candles add to the romantic look. Red apples and pomegranates give the table a holiday touch, and with added greenery and fruit, you can really get creative with the color palette if you want to. This bold cranberry red also goes well with blush pink, peach, fuchsia, and dark rich purples.

  2. Love how you decorated this table with the red roses. The addition of the candle and the apples is fantastic. I never thought of roses as Fall decorations but they really look great the way you styled this. Thanks for sharing this with us.
