25 Halloween Costumes w/Your LBD

The easiest way to create a last-minute or inexpensive Halloween costume is to start with things you already have. I do it every year, because I get so frustrated with how expensive yet poorly-made most Halloween costumes are. I'd rather use what is already in my closet, or spend a little extra on accessories or a new dress that I can wear anytime of the year. A little black dress is the easiest way to use what you have to create a Halloween costume with a few inexpensive accessories and other accessories you probably already have in your closet.Pictured Above: Halloween Black Mesh Dress

1. Black Cat - This is the easiest way to use your little black dress on Halloween. I know it's pretty much the most generic costume in history, but for good reason - it's just so easy and affordable. It's the perfect last-minute costume for women, because you could really use any black outfit even if you don't have a little black dress. Pair it with your black flats or heels and a…

November Letter from the Editor

I hope you all had a lovely October and a Happy Halloween. I sure did. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I dressed up as Emma Swan and even had a pirate to accompany me. Of all of the qualities I was looking for in Mr. Right, you could say that someone who is fun enough to dress up for Halloween was somewhere near the top of my list.

If you're like most people, you're already looking forward to Christmas, though I plan to continue to celebrate fall as much as possible leading up to Thanksgiving. I've noticed #givethanks hash tags popping up everywhere on social media, and I'm happy for the reminder. It seems like every month there is a new theme to my life, summed up by a word. Last month, it was "balance" as I had changes in both my daily life and in my future plans.

But as I get into the month of November, a new word is taking over my mind, and that word is naturally "thanksgiving." I know, it's somewhat cheesy and repetitive, much like a New Year's resolution, but it's nice to have a time of the year that we are more mindful of certain things. Before we get into the chaos of the busy holiday season, let's get in the habit of focusing on the things we are thankful for, lest we turn into stressed-out Grinches.

What to Expect this Month

On krisztinawilliams.com, for the month of November, you can expect many new recipe posts; including a cranberry spice layer cake, pumpkin praline cinnamon rolls, and a salted caramel apple pie. And as I've noticed over the years that my readers prefer easy semi-homemade recipes when it comes to entertaining, I'll include recipes that won't take up too much of your holiday family time (or your budget). In the meantime, you can check out these different holiday recipe sections:

cranberry recipes  /  pumpkin desserts cocktail recipes  /  appetizers  /  Thanksgiving

You can also expect a lot of holiday style guides. I'm often asked about outfit ideas for Christmas photos, and just recently I keep getting asked by readers "What is appropriate attire for the ballet?" More than anything, when it comes to fall/winter fashion, you guys can't seem to get enough of style guides on how to wear tall boots, so you can certainly expect some more of those, along with new guides on holiday beauty, entertaining, and home decor.

If there is anything in particular you'd like for me to cover, please don't hesitate to leave a comment or send me an email. I'm accepting new contributing writers and sponsors this holiday season as well, so just send me an email if you're interested. Have a lovely November. :)
