3 DIY Exfoliating Facial Masks

Exfoliating is one of the most important steps when it comes to skincare. As we age, the skin doesn't naturally exfoliate as often, so it needs a little help. The immediate benefit to exfoliating is that it removes dead skin and encourages skin cell renewal, for younger looking skin. If you incorporate an exfoliating scrub into your skincare regimen once a week, the long term benefits include a reduction of dark spots, scars, fine lines, and wrinkles. Best of all, with regular at-home exfoliation, you don't need to spend a lot of money on expensive microdermabrasion treatments. December Letter from the Editor

One holiday down, one more to go. But let's look at it in a positive way. You can complain about the lines at the store, the commercialism, the extra traffic, etc; or you can enjoy all of the beautiful lights and Christmas trees and time with family. I know I will.

In the November Editor's Letter, I mentioned "Thanksgiving" as the word that was constantly on my mind. This month, I find myself thinking of "joy" the most. There are a lot of other words we can associate with Christmas time; like miracle, festive, giving, and so on. But I keep going back to joy. Just like my approach with love, it isn't a feeling as much as it is a choice. I am choosing to find the joy in the holidays. Yes, it will be busy and hectic, and I simply won't have enough time to do everything on my list. But I will choose to find the joy in moments both big and small; whether going to the ballet for my birthday, making cookies with my girls, or watching Elf on ABC Family. I encourage you to find the joy in your own holiday moments this month.
