3 Looks for a Summer Wedding

It seems not too long ago when I shared three looks to wear to a spring wedding. But that season has come and gone so quickly, and summer is upon us. And it is the biggest season of the year for weddings, so chances are you have a few invites and may be wondering what to wear. It's pretty easy to figure out summer wedding attire if you keep the location in mind.

Of course you have the invite to start with as well. It should say "Black Tie Attire" or "Black Tie Optional" or perhaps something like "Formal Beach Attire," and it will have the ceremony time. Generally indoor evening weddings call for more formal attire than outdoor afternoon weddings.

For an indoor wedding, no matter what time of year, you can never go wrong with a Black Formal Dresses. An elegant knee-length cocktail dress, like this FAIRY COUPLE Women's Off the Shoulder Lace Vintage Wedding Party Cocktail Dress is perfect for a black-tie optional indoor wedding, while a sleeveless o…

Snapshots from My Week

I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving and are looking forward to Christmas as much as I am.:) I enjoyed two Thanksgiving dinners this year, and they were both equally delicious. For the month of December, my family has several fun things planned, so that will mean more and more lovely pics to share both here on the blog and on Instagram. If you have a lifestyle instagram page to share, please leave it in the comments below, so I can check it out. Happy Holidays! :)

Most of these shots are from Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, OK. They host a gingerbread display, decorated Christmas trees, and a beautiful light display in their outdoor gardens this time of year. I've been there twice this holiday season, with my special someone pictured above :), and definitely plan to post more pics that I took with my better camera.

Part of the gingerbread houses that are on display (and up for auction) at Philbrook, this gingerbread tree house was one of my favorites. I love how they used a green gummi ring to make a mini wreath. I am definitely going to use that idea.

My girls got a head start on Christmas cookies with some gingerbread men on Thanksgiving. I love to bake and make homemade Christmas cookies every year, but for those busier days when the kids are out of school, God bless those prepackaged gingerbread kits!

The Thanksgiving dinner I cooked for was filled with my sweet and savory turkey, homemade cranberry sauce, a few classic sides, and some very yummy desserts. I took down new recipes for mini cranberry pies, a sangria-wine cranberry sauce, my cranberry-spice layer cake, and a pecan pie that was by far the biggest hit. I'll share all of those recipes here on the site before Christmas.
