Snapsots from the Week
This past week was off to a great start, as I got something beautiful and sparkly as an early birthday gift from my boyfriend.:) It was given to me early so I could wear it to The Nutcracker this weekend, and so I could keep it in mind while dress shopping. Ladies, it's simple really, a man who not only wants to give you what you want, but wants to give you exactly what you want and in a way that makes you even more happy, someone who genuinely takes joy in your happiness...that's a keeper!
I did some gift shopping of my own, especially when I spotted this adorable "Meowy Christmas" sweater at Target. It's perfect for my youngest daughter, who is completely obsessed with cats. They also have an "Oh Snap" gingerbread sweater, a "Ba Hum Pug" dog sweater, and a "Fleece Navidad" sheep sweater. I was so tempted to buy all of them.
For date night...or day in this case, we went to see Krampus; it was very fitting as my girls and I celebrate St. Nicholas Day every year. We introduced his girls to the tradition with stockings full of candies and goodies (I know, it's supposed to be a boot, but I can't get past the idea of putting candy and treats in shoes that they put their feet in). After the movie, we went somewhere new for coffee. I always forget how much I like the little shops and restaurants on Brookside and Cherry Street. It was a nice break from the malls and busy stores.
We tried The Coffee House on Cherry Street and were very pleasantly surprised. It's got great atmosphere, great decor, yummy treats, and yummy coffee. I had the Chocolate Crinkle Cookie, and I'm dying for another one. Definitely a place to return to.
I wore my new necklace out. It's quite perfect, in that it'll be beautiful with a cocktail dress, but it's also just the right size to wear with a lace top or a simple sweater. It's the "Crest Collar Necklace" at Bauble Bar, by the way.
As I said above, St. Nicholas left some goodies...in stockings. I can't get over the boot thing, I just can't. So why not stockings?
How have you been enjoying the holidays so far?
