KCL Friday Finds

Happy weekend!! I've got another round up of beautiful home decor items for you guys today. It hasn't been intentional, it just so happens that the Friday Finds participants have all been home decor shops lately, and I'm loving it! With Spring coming up soon, it's the perfect time to spruce things up around the house and update your decor for the new season. Pictured: Geometric Pineapple Jewelry Holder/Home Accessory

First up is something we could all use more of in our homes - hygge by Snygge Home (pronounced snoo-gue). Snygge is a play on the danish word hygge that I'm sure you've heard of by now...or at least seen and thought what is hygge anyway? Hygge is "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being." You can read more about it on Hygge Home.

At Snygge Home, owner Alice and her boyfriend Jack create hygge-inspired homeware, gifts, and event decorations using 3D printing. And like most E…

Snapshots from the Week

I've been posting to Instagram relentlessly over the weekend, and when I sat down to unload my DSLR pics onto my laptop, my tired little Toshiba displayed "downloading 255 images." Between a lovely stay at the Renaissance hotel and a trip to the Oklahoma Bridal show, this week's snapshots were a matter of editing down, that's for sure. Pictured: Sony A330 Digital SLR

I hope you had a lovely weekend and are enjoying the holiday. If you're working anyway, as I am, at least you can justify taking it easy today and distracting yourself from your responsibilities, with social media and your favorite websites. If for some reason that includes this blog...thank you!

The Renaissance Tulsa hotel was my favorite hotel stay in town so far. I look forward to sharing it in my new Checking In column.

Before checking in, we spent a few hours at the Oklahoma wedding show, sampling yummy cake and enjoying the bridal runway show. Cake by La Villa di Dulce.

For dinner, my fiance and I went to Abuelos near the hotel, and oh my word, I forgot how much I love this restaurant. The decor is amazing, the service is good, and the food is both delicious and affordable. Definitely going back there.

We finished off the evening in the hotel bar with a glass of Pinot and a glass of Merlot...both very yummy. I'm trying to save the hotel info for my actual hotel post, but I have to say that sitting in the courtyard of the Renaissance, in candlelight and with the waterfall sounds coming from the koi pond (yup, and indoor koi pond in their courtyard), all of the stresses of the week faded away, and we smiled at each other like, "Yeah, we're coming back here in the future."
