Gift Guide for the Dog Lover

I'm so excited to bring you guys today's holiday gift guide. This one is for all of the #dogmoms out there (and #dogdads). My husband and I have a German Shepherd named Emma (who is currently in a time out for pooping inside...again), but just like our other kids, we still love her. We'd also really love it if she'd quit going potty inside, but that is beside the point. The point is there is no shame in spoiling your sweet fur baby, especially during the holidays!! And while some of these gifts are items for your dog, some are great gift ideas for the dog lover in your life too.

The Dogist 2018 Wall Calendar by Elias Weiss Friedman author of The Dogist, for example, is the perfect Christmas gift for someone who loves dogs.

These super cute Christmas Plaid Dog Collars by Mr. Bow Tie Boutique would be the perfect holiday gift for doggies and dog owners alike! Whether you have family holiday photos coming up, or you simply want your furry friend to look festive for those…

February Letter from the Editor

February has always been one of my favorite months. I love just about every holiday, and a holiday that involves love, hearts, and cute pink-and-red products...and of course chocolate, how could anyone not like February?

Though there are those who shun the holiday. People who are either recently heart-broken or have been single for longer than they care to be. I admit, it can be tough to be surrounded by reminders of what you wish you had, but the thing is, most of us have someone to love. Whether it be a parent, a child, a friend, or a romantic love; Valentine's Day doesn't have to be all about whether or not you have a date.

Granted this year I do have someone, finally. Someone who takes the initiative to be romantic, so much so that I have already gotten a gigantic bear and yummy chocolates simply because I had a rough week and he wanted to cheer me up.

But I've been without this wonderful man during previous Valentine's Days, and I always found ways to celebrate love. I focused on myself, my friends, and my family. I've spent years going out and getting my own chocolates, my own flowers, because I wanted those things. I've given my daughters Valentine's Day baskets filled with stuffed animals and little heart candies. I've received Valentine's Day cards from my mother, hand-written notes from my daughters, and flowers from my best friend.

My point is, you don't need a boyfriend or girlfriend to enjoy the holiday. You just need a good attitude and some love. Have a Happy Valentine's Day.:)

  1. You are SO right! No reason to wait on someone else to celebrate love, everyone should celebrate loving themselves!
