Easy Everyday Contouring and Highlighting

Contouring and highlighting has been a huge makeup trend in recent years, and with good reason - you can use concealer to achieve more defined cheek bones, to make your lips look bigger, and my personal favorite - to hide a double chin. And despite all of the intricate tutorials out there, I want to show you that it can actually be quick an easy!

The first trick is to start with the right concealer shades. First, let’s get one thing straight: when I say highlighter, I do not mean the super light and shimmery highlighter that should only be reserved for above the cheekbones. I’ve seen all too many makeup vloggers apply that all over, from the forehead to the tip of the nose, to the cupid’s bow and the chin. Those however, are rather places for a creamy skin-tone concealer.

How to Pick the Right Shade of Concealer

For the highlights, you want a concealer that is one to two shades lighter than your foundation. If you just go one shade lighter, as I have, pick one with a yellow tone, so y…

Beauty Review: Target's New Defy & Inspire Nail Polish Line

I was pretty excited to try Target's new nail polish, especially when I saw that it comes in cute colors, like "newlyweds" and "Bridezilla" both pictured above. I'm a huge Target fan, and the fact that the Defy & Inspire polish costs over $7 a bottle, nearly as much as the essie and OPI professional polishes, I assumed it was just as good in quality.

Then the second day after applying it, the polish was not only chipped but worn off at the tips on every nail. Granted the colors are beautiful, but for the price and how shortly it lasted, I'm going back to essie. You can shop my recommendations below.

  2. I love Essie's lasting power, but I'm a sucker for OPI's neutrals -- too bad these didn't work out :(

  9. I know.:( I love Target too. But I figure I'll at least use up the rest on my toenails as that always lasts longer than my finger nail polish anyway. But definitely won't be buying anymore of it.

  10. It's so miserable when you put all the time into doing your nails and the next day it's chipped.
