Me Too...

There is so much to be said on this subject, and speaking from experience, simply being able to hear other people's stories can have a huge impact on healing. So, yes, just the fact that women are speaking out, will in itself help other victims. So for this post, I am simply sharing my own stories. And of course the specific point of #metoo is to shed light on the magnitude of the problem. I don't know what the solution is, but I do hope that this helps in some small way, if only to help some of my readers to feel as if they're not alone, and that healing is possible.

Have you ever been sexually harassed or assaulted? Me too...

With the phrase "grab them by the pussy" reverberating since the presidential election (unfortunately) and new and disgusting details of the Weinstein scandal surfacing by the day, it is hard to keep anxieties at bay. My Best Desserts for Spring

I do love fall desserts - pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and pretty much anything with cranberries. But Spring has its own set of yummy flavors. Things like coconut, banana cream, lemon, and strawberries are just a few of the flavors I love to use in my spring baking.

The strawberry-wine layer cake pictured above is by far one of the best (and prettiest) cakes I've ever made for the blog. And I promise, it's actually quite easy to decorate.

These beautiful blueberry-lemon puff pastry bites are a light and delicious dessert you can make anytime during spring. And you can easily mix up the recipe. For example, instead of lemon with fresh blueberries, you could pair vanilla pudding with fresh raspberries.

Of course you can't have Easter brunch without carrot cake. You can check out my classic spiced carrot cake here, or you can explore this roundup of 25 Ways to Make Carrot Cake. Pictured: Carrot Cake Whoopie Pies with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting by Serena of Domesticate Me

Banana Cream pie is often served during the holidays, but it works just as well for Spring. I love this Banana Cream Tart recipe I came up with a few years ago. It's a lighter version of a traditional banana cream pie, but is definitely just as yummy!

A classic white cake is the perfect canvas for many spring desserts. You can completely change up the flavor by adding things like lemon zest, coconut flakes, fresh strawberries, etc. To make it from scratch, start with this Perfect White Cake Recipe.
