KCL Friday Finds

Happy weekend, and welcome to Friday Finds! Today it's all about holiday hostess gifts. It about the time when you may have several seasonal parties and functions to attend, and you should never show up empty-handed. The best hostess gift should be something just for the hostess that he or she can use at a later time, either for entertaining or just for themselves. Just because you may have been assigned a side dish or drinks, you should still being along a special hostess gift.

A hostess gift doesn't need to cost a lot. They can range anywhere from $10-$25, and really should be on average $20. There are so many appropriate options in this price range - anything from a set of tea towels to a cookbook, or something gourmet, or even a little bath and body gift. If you need a hostess gift for a party or dinner this holiday season, you can't go wrong with one of the picks below.

This first one is my favorite, because it's a versatile multi-use item, and it's so chic. …

Our Best St. Patrick's Day Recipes

http://www.glorioustreats.com/2012/03/shamrock-cut-out-cupcakes.html

I've done a few St. Patrick's Day recipe round ups over the years, and they always go crazy right about now, naturally, particularly the green-colored dessert posts. Though I have quite a few more, from Bailey's Irish Cream desserts to a few St. Patrick's Day dinner menus. If you need to plan a St. Patrick's Day feast this week, all you need are these yummy recipe guides. Pictured: Shamrock Cut-Out Cupcakes by Glorious Treats

1. Green-Colored Desserts for St. Patrick's Day
This particular post gets the most hits out of all of my St. Patrick's day guides, mostly thanks to the Green Candied Popcorn by Skip to My Lou. It's been repinned tens of thousands of times. Clearly people love that popcorn. Pictured: St. Patrick's Day Cake from Twig and Thistle

2. 25 Green-Colored Desserts for St. Patrick's Day
This is another great round up of green-colored desserts, like chocolate-mint cupcakes, green velvet cheesecake, and many others. Pictured: Dark Chocolate Creme de Menthe Cupcakes by Love & Olive Oil

3. Bailey's Irish Cream Desserts
For something more grown-up (and delicious) skip the green desserts for something flavored with Bailey's Irish Cream, like Irish Cream Cupcakes or Bailey's Pistachio Fudge. Yum! Pictured: Baileys Irish Cream Cookies by The Buttercream Blondie

4. Shamrock-Shaped Party Food
The more obvious choice for St. Patrick's Day party food focuses not only on the color green but also  on incorporating the clover shape. I totally love this idea, because anyone (regardless of time or cooking skills) can easily make something like the shamrock ships with a simple clover cookie cutterPictured: Shamrock Chips with Dip by Zakka Life

5. Traditional Irish Dinner Menu on a Budget
This is one of my personal favorites on the blog, because it features more traditional Irish dishes, like Shepherd's Pie, Irish Soda Bread, and a yummy Irish Apple Cake. Pictured: Shepherd's Pie via The Brown Eyed Baker / recipe originally from The Country Cooking of Ireland by Colman Andrews

When in doubt, just make corned-beef brisket and drink some green beer. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
