Me Too...

There is so much to be said on this subject, and speaking from experience, simply being able to hear other people's stories can have a huge impact on healing. So, yes, just the fact that women are speaking out, will in itself help other victims. So for this post, I am simply sharing my own stories. And of course the specific point of #metoo is to shed light on the magnitude of the problem. I don't know what the solution is, but I do hope that this helps in some small way, if only to help some of my readers to feel as if they're not alone, and that healing is possible.

Have you ever been sexually harassed or assaulted? Me too...

With the phrase "grab them by the pussy" reverberating since the presidential election (unfortunately) and new and disgusting details of the Weinstein scandal surfacing by the day, it is hard to keep anxieties at bay. It's difficult to watch the news or scroll through Twitter when just the words "rape" and "molest" …

Snapshots from the Week

I'm a bit behind on my snapshots post, as I've been busy with moving this week. I'm all settled in, despite the mess of boxes and am ready to enjoy this life. It means a lot of good things for me, being in this new home, but most of all it means spending more time with my fiance and merging our families as we plan our wedding and look toward the future. On this first work day in my new home, I am feeling relieved and happy...and so very ready for another fun weekend.

Last weekend we discovered a few new places around Tulsa and enjoyed the warmer weather. We took a nice walk through Centennial Park (pictured above) then tried out The Phoenix coffee house for the first time. With plenty of large tables, books both for sale and in a separate library room, and of course coffee; it's a great place for the more studious coffee drinkers. And with an actual liquor bar, I imagine it's a great place to let loose in the evening.

Though our first stop was a shopping center in Bixby, where we discovered both a crepe cafe and wine bar, as well as several cute shops. A super cute bakery called Nothing Bundt Cakes proved to be a welcome discovery. Their cake is insanely delicious, and they sell a lot of cute, unique gift items as well.

Perhaps my favorite shop there was a women's fashion boutique called Urban Couture. It was like, girly girl heaven. By that I mean that every single thing in that store was beautiful. The light fixtures, the dressing rooms, the displays, and of course the actual products themselves. I will definitely be going back there, and will show you guys more pics in my new Inside Look column.

For dinner, we went with a recent favorite, Abuelo's. Oh my word, every time I look at these pics, I am reminded how insanely delicious this steak was.

With a little time to kill before our movie at Warren, we checked out the diner at the theater, for a cup of coffee. I cannot stress enough that if you live in the Tulsa area, you should check out the Warren next time you go to a movie.

I hope you had a lovely week, and here's to another fun and relaxing weekend!
